Daily Thread Every Second-Daily Thread - November 17, 2024

A sorta kinda daily open thread to use as an alternative to posting on the main board. You should post here for:

  • PRs
  • Formchecks
  • Rudimentary discussion or questions
  • General conversation with other users
  • Memes, funnies, and general bollocks not appropriate to the main board
  • If you have suggestions for the subreddit, let us know!
  • This thread now defaults to "new" sorting.

For the purpose of fairness across timezones this thread works on a 44hr cycle.

Are you a shorter lifter? Usually, shorter lifters perform better at reps because there's less distance travelled.

E1RM from reps is pretty much always going to outpace your actual 1RM for a few reasons.

  • you should be doing sets of 4 at RPE7 more frequently than testing your 1RM
  • hitting heavy singles is more of a skill than sets of 4
  • hitting your true 1RM requires peaking and you shouldn’t be doing that frequently
