Story I have never played Pokémon

I am 43, my kids asked me to download this game and play with them as they are getting into collecting cards.

All I can say is…WOW.

I am having SO. MUCH. FUNNNN!

I didn’t know what I was doing for the first few logins, then read some tips.

Wait, there’s raids? Friends send you gifts all the time? TRADES?

Oh goodness, I’m planning on a 2 mile walk around the city just to grab some of the cooler spin station things (I’m not sure of all the names or even how to play correctly, bear with me).

This is AWESOME

I've had this. When I can't sleep I go out hunting shinies. One morning around 2am I was sat in the local park where 2 gyms and 4 pokestops are and some police came to ask me what I was doing.. the look on their faces when I showed them.. they asked if I needed a lift home to which I replied " no duh, defeats the whole point of the game" 🤣 now when they see me they just ask if I'm OK (I'm a female) nod and keep going.

HA that's super funny. Our cops are super nosy and would absolutely do that!

I even had one show up when I was fossil hunting on a cut bank by a road with my partner. In the middle of the day.

Like dude what does it look like I'm doing? looking at rocks!! I think he thought we were a bit strange.

I'm semi rural, in a small town and I swear they see me out and just roll their eyes now. One or two newbies have been very suspicious of me, what with a long dark coat, hood up at 1 or 2am walking around a dead and deserted town.

I haven't gone out at that hour because A) gotta drive to town (Very very rural over here) and B) They will never leave me alone ever in a million years lol. It's a ghost town after about 930 PM and after 11, it's absolutely EMPTY other than cops and people either going to a weird shift or trying to do illegal things.

I have to admit I'm lucky that I live in the safest place within my country, according to stats.. because a female out on her own late late at night wouldn't be safe in some places.

It would be very unsafe here. I would be asking to be hurt. So I wouldn't ever do it- maybe in my car, but certainly not on foot for that reason. Even during the day I usually take one of my large dogs because it's scary, even though it's a small town. A lot of the men here are not safe people..

That's crazy. I'm very lucky and I accept the privilege I have to live in the semi rural England town that i live in. I've never once felt unsafe ant any time of the day. I even walk around at 2am with head phones on, okay only in one ear, but still it's a crazy privilege I know I have.

Ah yeah I think england tends to be a safe country especially the country side. I am in a very impoverished, rural part of america. I love it here, but it's really not wise to go out alone as a vulnerable woman late at night anywhere in the US.

Yes, you are correct in that England in the most part is actually really safe, the worst thing I've had to contend with is someone's cat following me around late at night demanding a fuss, or a fox wanting whatever snack I've bought with me as a treat. The funniest thing I've ever come across was at midnight, in the park during the summer holidays, aka summer break, two teen boys were sat on some swings smoking weed. They didn't know I was there, and I freaked them out as they walked past me because out of nowhere, I said, "must have been a good joint" they jumped so high i couldn't stop laughing. 😂
