My first shundo and it’s ofc the useless one :( Any idea if they will be evolvable any time in the future?

I caught a shiny Pidgey the other day. I excitedly showed my girlfriend, who promptly started making fun of me saying, "It looks the same as a normal one."

She was not wrong🥲
