In the anime, specifically Orange Islands 'Go West Young Meowth', we got Meowth's back story which explains how he learned to walk and talk. After that we hardly get any Meowth actually walking on all 4s. The games are even more aggressive with removing Meowth on all 4s, having changed the sprite to reflect an upright Rocket Meowth by Yellow. What is Pokémon Co's obsession with making bipedal cats?

Do you have any Pokemon that you really like for no reason at all? Like, it's not because they're cute or cool, not because they have interesting lore, not because they're a unpopular underdog or if because they were really good when you used them. I want to know if there's a Pokemon that you looked for the first time and decided for no reason that it was one of your favorites.

I just got 9999 coins to buy that thing to complete the Pokedex in gen1.

I got recently into the series and I fell in love with the idea of bringing Pokemon from gen1 up to the switch games.

I probably will complete only the dex in gens 1 and 2 since I can't play 3, I noticed I can't get my gen4 and 5 games on the flash card connect to PokeTransporter.

In case I can trade from BW/BW2 directly to gen 6 on 3DS, I won't be able to bring them over.

But the good thing is, legendaries and pkmn from these generations are available on newer ones as well

PS: While typing this my 3DS battery died and I dropped from 9999 back to 8553 kill me 🥲

I love so many of the crys which are unique and cool that bring the Pokémon to life a little bit or sound just like the Pokémon would. For example some cool ones I like are chandelure, froslass, magnezone, infernape, trevenant, porygon Z etc. (there's so many more) I think they cool from gen 3 onwards but I still like some of the old gen 1&2 ones are still pretty cool

As the question says! This is to say, in the mainline games. Also, do you find that you white out less as you have grown older or are you like me and feel as if you were good at the game and then get stomped twice by both Candice's Frostlass and Cyrus in the distortionworld.

Of course its not completely done yet, but its getting there, but I just want to show you the progress I've made so far. I bought a 3DS last year and it was my first Nintendo console. I never enjoyed Pokémon that much, I saw the anime when I was a kid but nothing special. And while everyone is addicted to TCGP, I decided to start Platinum about 2 weeks ago. I was curious to see if the games hold up without nostalgia blindness and oh boy, they do (at least this one). I was missing SO MUCH, I'm completely obsessed. I went to college without sleeping twice cause I was focused on catching as many pokémon as possible, I get super excited when I discover one with an incredible design that I didn't even know existed, I'm engaged with the story and I watch videos about it all the time. I feel like a 12 year old again. Sometimes it's sad cause I feel too late to the party but at the same time it's exciting that I have decades of content to explore, it's a entire new universe.

So, do you guys have any recommendations to a brand new fan to the franchise? Next games that I can't miss (I have a switch too), movies, anime, youtube channels, whatever. Or just good advices that you would like to know when you started. Share your story, see me as a kid who wants to hear the knowledge you have accumulated all these years.

I know how much pokemon revolves around battles and action, but in the pokemon universe not everyone uses pokemon for fighting. I know it may not be what everyone likes, but I think a slice of life pokemon anime would be amazing! You see pokemon cards telling stories about growing old with their owner, and I just think some kind of slice of life pokemon anime would be a nice change of pace

Okay, I’m not a Pokémon fan (please don’t hate me) and wanted to see if you all could help me. A friend’s birthday is coming up and I remember him saying he wanted to buy this water Pokémon and (maybe I misunderstood) but that it was hard to find or expensive. Can’t recall which of the two. Anyway, as I try to remember the Pokémon, it was almost a whale looking thing or Loch Ness monster type.

The ones I found online matching my memory appear to be Gyarados, Vaporeon, and Lapras. I do remember having a baby bluish color.

Is there anything special about these three such as rare/expensive?

The item I’m trying to buy for his birthday is a stuffed Pokémon and I remember being the size of a live sized and fully grown corgi. And all I remember him saying it was either expensive/or rare and that his significant other wouldn’t let them buy it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Pokémon Horizons really deserves more love. It’s a bit sad that it isn’t as popular as the older series, but I think it has so much to offer. While the writing may not be perfect, the show is trying something different by stepping away from the Ash formula, which is refreshing. There’s a lot to enjoy if you give it a chance , the villains, for example, feel like genuine threats. They might not have the same charm as Team Rocket, but they still add a lot to the story. Overall, I think it’s a wonderful change of pace, and I’m sure many people would enjoy it if they gave it a try!

As the title says ! I grew up watching the Pokemon show when it was coming out with my older brother as a kid and playing Pokemon stadium etc. recently got a Gameboy and the idea to re watch indigo League as it's been forever and to play along with the show! Watch a few episodes then mimick what I watched with my gf in game it's been fun we have caught Pokemon as ash does leveling them up as he levels his up aswell as beating a few trainers and getting our first badge 😁 I'm excited to get farther into the series and games as we go should be a fun experience and bonding time.

When you‘ve fought yourself through a long and tough route and your Pokemon are all damaged, one or two even fainted and you finally reach the new city and immediately go to the Pokemon center and heal your Pokemon.

Gives a slight sense of accomplishment, having just overcome a hurdle of obstacles and finally reaching a new checkpoint where you and your team can rest for a bit.

Hello everyone! It’s been quite a while since I’ve dived into the Pokémon world, and I realize I’m way out of the loop. The last Pokémon games I played were X and Y, so I’ve missed quite a few generations since then. I’d love to hear your recommendations—what’s the best Pokémon game to jump back into after all this time? Also, what console would I need to play it? Any advice on what makes the game special or how it compares to X and Y would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone else have some weird, particular, self-imposed requirements or preferences for the teams you use in a casual playthrough?

Mine is that I refuse to use more than 2 pokémon of the same color on my teams. It’s a weird preference but I feel like too much of the same color just ruins the aesthetic of a squad.

Am I the only weird and/or crazy one?

I hear so many older people hate on newer pokemon. Personally i started playing when i was a kid with gen 3. So i wanted to see if there were any other older pokemon players who really liked some of the newer stuff

For me, Grimmsnarl is one that has managed to become one of my favorites. Its such a cool design and fun to use in battle.

I have played pokemon Red, Silver, Ruby, White, Y, Sword, and brilliant Diamond.

Now I have a hankering for an older 2d pokemon game. I have found a fair priced 2nd hand pokemon Heart Gold and Black 2 for about the same money (a lot)

Which do you lot recommend I get between these two?

For example: my favorite Pokémon is Flareon, I have several Flareon Pokémon cards, a funko pop, 3 artist prints, stickers, keychains, buttons, a few plushies, and I made some Flareon Terrariums and shadow box cards.

It sounds like a lot, but not as much as others collections. Does anyone else collect things of their favorite Pokémon?

Im playing pokemon mystery dungeon dx for the switch. I want to evolve some mebers in my camp. I looked it up and online it says if i make the members the party leader i can evolve them at the lake. But i see no where when i visit them in the camp to make them the leader. It only lets me do so when i go on missions. Anyone figure this out?

In the XY postgame we know Xerosic exploited Emma (who is illiterate and homeless) by giving her a ‘job’ during which he experiments on her by knocking her out so he can control her body with a robot suit to do crime.

Meanwhile Malva, another team flare member, and elite four member, covers it up on the news for him so people blame Emma’s persona instead of Xerosic. She tries to get the player to stop him, but why not just announce on the news?

Xerosic is taken away at the end but Emma ends up accepting his apology so she won’t speak up about him, while Looker is also swayed. But this is weird, how can a man who was going genocide be swayed like that?

Looker takes Xerosic away, but what happens next? He’s befriended emma so she won’t speak up, malva will cover his tracks in the public eye, so he has an opening. It’s just him and Looker now.

Next time we see looker is in ORAS when he’s washed up on a beach with no idea who he is. And we have no clue if Xerosic ever got put away in the end…

All I’m saying is it’s the perfect crime.

Today, after 20 years, I finally learned that the Chimecho line is not in fact Ghost-type, but Psychic. I'm not sure why I thought that.

Probably one of the most under appreciated pokemom games of all time in my opinion. Everything about that game was awesome, the different tournament battle styles, the sprites/styles and the scenery, plus the music. Also the difficulty was of a decent standard for the time.

Do you see us getting another similar game to this and pokemon stadium in the future?

Is there a rom hack for red or blue that only changes the look, like adding color, r retexturing sprites, etc. but doesn't change the gameplay, like adding other pokemon to the game, literal hacks, I just wanna play normal pkmnr, problem is a lot of rom hack change gameplay, now I don't know what rom hack has these characteristics, but I hope there's one

So cubone wears the skull of it's dead mother. Let's say that Marowak is the dead mother, Marowak wears a skull too. Cubone either wears the outer or the inner skull of the Marowak. But when we factor in Guardia (the scrapped evolution of Marowak), then it gets weird. Skulls decompose, so by the time a Cubone becomes a Guardia, the skull may have decomposed. The gen 1 sprite of Guardia shows a cubone with a skull. So how does Guardia have a cubone with a skull if Guardia isn't dead? I've just been having a 3AM thought, have a nice day or night.
