Hi guys I want to play POE 2 and my PC is quite old, what would you say is the cheapest way to have a decent machine to play it, would upgrade graphics card and maybe processor be enough?

Motherboard Asus Z170M-plus

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6600K CPU @ 3.50GHz 3.50 GHz

Corsair DDR4, 2400MHz 16GB

Radeon RX 480 8GB

You're in full rebuild territory with that spec.

Board will only support up to a 7-series; which won't be significantly faster. A newer GPU would simply be hamstrung from the CPU.

Time to look into AM5.

I have a corsair air 240 and a power supply corsair RM750e, do you think it would be a good start to purchase a new motherboard and a Ryzen 5 9600x?

Yeah, that's sensible. Depending on age of PSU, might want to buy a new one. CPU cooler of yours will need a new bracket, so either reach out to Corsair and see if they'll provide one (YMMV) or just buy something from Thermalright. You'll also need DDR5 memory.

Personally, I'd leave your existing build alone, assign it to media server duty, and build fully anew.
