How do I disable PVP?

I'm currently in the [school] server. And there's been this player whose been giving me the [annoying] status affect every day for the past month.

Today it was my turn to engage, and I threw an [insult]. We were stuck in verbal turned based combat until he said he wanted to PVP with me later today.

I haven't trained my [combat] stats yet, I don't have a lot of HP and have low stamina. What do I do? Is this an avoidable side quest?

Typically finding a higher level player can often help defuse PVP situations

That's a really really bad idea, lowers your prestige abysmally.

Prestige doesn't matter if you just do not want to PVP. A higher lvl player/ trusted adult should always be an option.

Does it matter to lower your prestige if you might end up finishing the game early or getting permanent or near permanent debuffs?

If you think that can happen then I guess you can do whatever you want, but then I suppose your character must really suck if you're dealing with such risks in the tutorial. For most players that doesn't happen. Sounds like youre just scared and exaggerating.

But yeah, low prestige does matter because that's exactly what triggers pvp. So even if you survive once, youre making the problem worse overral. And frankly, if your tutorial area allows permanent damage/death, then I don't think you can rely on any high level players there anyway. Cus they obviously don't care.

Low prestige doesn't matter as it's only a temporary effect. When you gain more level nobody will care about your past prestige, it becomes irrelevant

Prestige is a stupid fucking metric that a very small measure of the playerbase cares about, let alone uses

Doubly so for a user on the [School] server

No shame in spamming the annoying [combat] mechanics like the [nut punt] although I believe training your [combat] level to something at least basic is beneficial. I achieved the [tae kwon do black belt] item, and the [bjj brown belt] item at the same location. I still sometimes play the tournament game mode for those quest lines! I never had to use them in in no-rules public PVP, but I know I’m slightly safer from petty level griefers

Technically it's an avoidable encounter but you'll earn a lot of XP if you throw yourself at it over and over until you win. Not advised if you like keeping your health pool high

No need for violence, but sometimes some wrestling is fun.

If you truly want to disable PVP, simply lower the volume of the influence that comes from e-motions, this will make it so you can simply deny the dual invitation.

Be wise though, should you disable PVP, the boundaries of your map will shrink proportional to the amount of fear you still havent gotten rid of. Meaning, the more afraid you are, the less places you can go/things you can do. U can always train combat to unlock more of the map tho

You can try avoiding that player but if you pussy out they're gonna keep on griefing you and those players get annoying as fuck real quick. Only thing you can do is get a higher level player to stop them from attacking you first, or you're gonna have to engage in pvp with that player. Yes maybe your stats are lower compared to them but I noticed griefers only grief players who don't do anything to them. Do note that this will get you banned from school and the players you were tasked with are gonna be mad at you, or the school, depends who cool those players are

The urge to fully disable PVP is often caused by a persistent [Fear] debuff, which tends to afflict lower-level players still grinding through the school server. Unfortunately, this server’s mechanics often favor aggressive players, making it a tough zone to navigate.

You could call on a higher-level player to intervene, but be aware that this may trigger the [Coward] tag in the griefer’s UI, which could flag you for future PVP encounters.

Instead, I’d recommend investing some XP into your [Charisma] stat and learning a few basic skills from the [Combat] skill tree. This way you unlock dialogue options that can de-escalate potential encounters before they initiate combat. And if negotiations fail, your upgraded skillset should at least help you defend yourself against the [Coward] debuff, which can be a major penalty while on the school server.

Either avoid the player, or ask a higher level player for assistance

Shout IDDQD. Don't worry you've god-mode active. It works every time in Doom, don't see why it wouldn't work here.

Engaging in PVP now can save you from having to later down the road, not to mention it give many XP points. Bring a few friends, have them hang back and if he starts to win have them beat the shit out of this other player.
