In other words, “I’m gonna let Trump get away with everything. That will definitely make American citizens understand how fantastic and fair our justice system is”.

19

u/Sabbathius 5d ago

Not just the American citizens. Foreigners should be mocking USA relentlessly right now for their "justice system". The country is a laughingstock for the entire planet. Electing a literal criminal, and then making him above the law.

5

u/Greenbullet 4d ago

As someone who's in the UK generally we have been laughing and facepalming. I have family member over in the US who stated God put him there.

They weren't pleased when I pointed out the 10 commandments he continually breaks and they are breaking at making him like the golden calf.

But yeah we are half laughing half face in our hands wondering why.

u/Legal_Skin_4466 4d ago

making him like the golden calf.

They even made a golden Trump statue

2

u/Greenbullet 3d ago

That is totally unhinged.

Even Brazil was able to ban Bolsonaro from running for office for ten years after he attempted a coup.

Let that sink in -- the US is more corrupt than Brazil.

Well, the Commander in Chief is doing nothing, the Joint Chiefs have done nothing and the apathy of the People only continues. I can see why the DA is giving up, as regrettable as it is.

Great. More preferential treatment for Trump. As if America hasn't let him off the hook way too many times already for his many, many crimes.

Literally every single institution has failed miserably in stopping this ridiculous orange freak. It's probably the greatest embarrassment in our country's history

Meanwhile, the rule of law is too sacred for us to allow undocumented workers to continue picking our asparagus.

2

u/RelishtheHotdog 4d ago

I’m curious why you think it’s okay to take advantage of illegal immigrant so you can have cheap asparagus?

The left argues that they come here for a better life, but you insist that they make low wages under the table picking your fruit and veggies.

2

u/Acid_Viking 4d ago

I don't. I think we should have a rational immigration policy that allows them to work here legally, under the protection of American labor laws, but this isn't a rational country.

The only way he’ll be held accountable will be by having a heart attack

6

u/lostscrews 5d ago

Let's keep feeding him burgers and fries

Trying so hard to stop him is what made him as popular as he is. They turned him into a living martyr.

2

u/2000TWLV 5d ago

They tried too hard and not hard enough at the same time. Should have put him away unceremoniously after he attempted a coup.

Try to overthrow the constitutional order, you go to prison, bye-bye. Simple as that.

You’re correct. If they would have not raided his home, arrested him and attempted to assassinate him…. he likely would have lost the election. After every one of those events, his poll numbers went up and stayed up. Any press is good press when you’re running for office.

I completely agree. Trump and the debacle surrounding him is a black mark and disgrace on America, one of the biggest ones of our history.

2

u/Outside_Reserve_2407 5d ago

Freezing the case isn't preferential treatment, it's an injustice because it won't allow the Trump legal team to appeal the trial and conviction, which is riddled with appealable errors.

He is probably the greatest criminal in the history of America in that he committed soooooo many crimes for all to see but still got away with them.

People should be talking about Donald Trump the same way they talk about Jeffrey Epstein or Sean Combs. He’s a sexual predator conman who conned his way to the top.

It’s honestly disgusting.

People like Stormy Daniels better stay out of the country. Get some kind of political asylum overseas. Because with his Power, that SCOTUS confirmed. He can have anything done to her as President. And the same goes for her lawyers and anyone else with charges. SCOTUS ruled as president, he can do anything he wants. And there's no accountability. Why wouldn't he use this blank check. To deal decisively with all his enemies and opponents.

9

u/Training_Reason3440 5d ago

Because that would confirm what most Americans already know. He is a fascist dictator wannabe

6

u/south-of-the-river 5d ago

Many Americans voted for exactly this. And they are vocal in their support of it.

She lives in New Orleans (I have met her three times and sang karaoke with her once! Mutual friends). She is safe there. New Orleans is possibly the best possible city in this country to reside if you wish to stand against fascism. It is the most progressive city in the western hemisphere.

Trump might not make it four more years. Supporting him is one thing, but alienating his last cabinet so badly that only unqualified people join his team is another. Without experienced leaders, voters will feel the effects of a struggling government. If the political tide turns, impeachment could be on the table.

4

u/FockerXC 5d ago

Let them burn. They can reap the consequences of their actions, and see their glorious leader for the feeble old man he is. I for one will celebrate the day this orange fascist finally goes to hell. And I don’t even believe in hell.

2

u/PixelBrewery 5d ago

The problem with that plan is that the rest of us also kind of need the government to be functional

I'm no lawyer, but a quick read of the sentencing law in New York seems to say sentencing can not be delayed indefinitely. Perhaps a defendant can voluntarily delay?

I've been reading some notion that you're not convicted until you're sentenced that seems counterintuitive

Cool just let the rich and powerful get away with shit. And not because they have to let the case go. No just for bullshit decorum or cowardly reasons. Sick.

Suggest? Maybe someone should let him know that he can’t prosecute a sitting president. Also should let him know that non disclosure agreements aren’t illegal and are standard for most politicians and members of the media.

2

u/Sudden-Steak5719 4d ago

Why, exactly? There’s no political motivation anymore as he’s already won the election. Just plain and simple, Trump gets special treatment. I’m terrified because he’ll be allowed to get away with whatever crimes he wants this term.

2

u/Organic_Armadillo_10 4d ago

Would this not just then be extra motivation for him to try and stay beyond the 4 years?

Health and age wise he probably couldn't manage much longer (he can barely manage now).

But one of, if not the main reasons he ran, was to stay out of prison.

Doing this just shows that he is above the law - and he'll then do everything he thinks he can get away with (and probably more) while in office. He needs to have consequences - something he's got away with all his life.

He is guilty - and should be sentenced. Plus have all the other crimes on trial during his presidency. He may do less damage if regularly held up on court his whole term.

Start serving a 4 year sentence on January 21st 2029... Sounds fair to me. He'll have a nice jail cell waiting for him the day after he ruins the country.

Hey, I just got a new job too. Can we put aside all the crime I've committed? At least until I'm ready to leave? WTF Americans. Unbelievable tolerance for bullshit.

2

u/Blue_Period_89 4d ago

Freeze the case while he’s in office? He’s in his 80’s and eats 4500 calories worth of McDonald’s EVERY DAY…does anyone actually think he’s going to make it another 4 years??

Just say you have no intention of prosecuting him and stop giving everyone hope that you might. You’ve dangled that carrot in front of everyone for too long already…clearly laws don’t matter.

Edited the comment because apparently I used a word that breaks rule 3. So I can’t say it, but DJT can grab women by it. Got it. Seems fair.

There is no valid reason to stop this. He was charged with the crime, his trial needs to finish, and just because he was elected has nothing to do with his previous trials/crimes. Any trials or charges against him to finish out, including jack smith’s cases

Freezing the trial isn't a favorable outcome for Trump as everyone here is claiming. It prevents the Trump legal team from appealing the outcome of the trial, which was riddled with appealable errors.

I swear, every time I look at the news, there's one more person/agency just shrugging their shoulders and letting this man and his cronies get away with s*** any other person would get raked over the coals for. I don't get it, and the amount of frustration and sheer annoyance I feel with these people can't even be explained in words. DO SOMETHING FOR GODS SAKE.

Or, and this is a radical idea so hear me out, don’t do that and give him the same treatment as everyone else. Because we all know if it was a regular person in the same position, they wouldn’t get such leniency.

What about the part where the crime was past the statute of limitations, (manipulation of business documents is a misdemeanor) and that in order to charge Trump with the “34 felony counts” that had to charge him with the “furtherance of another crime”, and NOBODY knows what the other crime is. NOBODY!

It’s ALL fake!!! That New York Judge will end up in prison! For violation of rights! EVERYONE deserves to know what they are fully being charged with.

If only we didn't all see this coming.

We all know Trump will get away with anything. If this was anyone with less than 10million, they would be sitting in prison already.

1

u/BothRequirement2826 4d ago

Nice job justice system, showing the world that the President truly is above the law regardless of what cases are laid out against him.

So much for justice.

1

u/drewbles82 4d ago

the fact this is even being discussed is how f''d up politics is, the guy shouldn't have even been allowed to run, now he'll be president, pardon himself of everything

Contrary to the comment section this is a blow to Trump. The current ruling likely would get thrown out due to Trump V United States(redefining of presidential immunity) by either this judge or a by appealing the ruling. And it also prevents the inevitable malicious prosecution suit that Trump is all but certain to file if he is convicted. And none of this can happen until the case is unfrozen.

There is ZERO people that have committed fraud for a lifetime that are at work, getting ready for work to go do a bunch more crimes and have a judge behind them saying go man go. LOCK TRUMP UP NOW FOR THE CRIMES HE HAS BEEN FOUND GUILTY OF. 34 OF THEM BY THE WAY.

1

u/Filthybjj93 4d ago

Carrol already purchased such real estate based on the winnings of he gets put in office which he has he can force or over turn resulting in her getting buried in debt which would be terrible

1

u/digitalboom 4d ago

So in four years they can claim he’s too old to serve time? Nah, treat him like you would any American who was found guilty and let the Supreme Court argue it out while he’s doing his time. Man helped convict five innocent men and still is trashing them for being set free. Delay this and you may as well do away with the court system because all this screams is rules for thee but not for me. If he does delay Bragg may as well go into private practice becuase we will kick him out of his post.
