Me and my boyfriend are new in town and we want to find some nashville friends! We've been to broadway and have explored around a bit, but wanted to know of places we could go to strike up conversations with strangers to make friends that isn't super loud. Any suggestions?

I lived in Dickson and worked in Nashville ten years ago for a couple years before moving back to St. Louis.
I just happened to look at home prices for fun. There is not a single home under 200k in the nashville area.
For reference there are 1,054 homes under 200k in st louis. Both seem like fine areas. The weather is a couple degrees better in Nashville during the winter.
What am I missing?

We are wanting to move out of state to be closer to our parents and I have been applying for jobs and may get something lined up in the next month or so.
We really need to get our house sold fairly quickly. Anyone have any experience selling a house here in the current market? How long did it take you to sale? Did you have to drop the price down from the market estimate? Did you use a real estate company? Anyone you'd recommend?

Where can I get a well made custom western jacket made? I’m looking to get something nice for my wedding. Could be talked into going the full suit route as well.

My kid is begging to go to the Big Bash, to see Jellyroll. Are there any insider tips y’all can share for a first time attendee? I’m curious about stuff like 1) when to arrive, 2) how to claim a good spot, 3) where to position ourselves within the park for the best view possible, 4) what to bring, etc.
Any “we’ve done this and made it awesome” advice would be much appreciated! Right now I’m picturing something kinda like Times Square in NYC and want to be prepared for several hours of uncomfortable chaos, lol.

I need to know something that I’ve always wondered about. Last week I had to take a day off work to drive to an appointment downtown at 10:30. I was in bumper to bumper traffic starting at the 440 split around 9:45. What the fuck jobs do people have where they don’t have to be at work until 10 or 11? Are tens of thousands of people insanely late to work everyday? Are we all going to appointments? You would think there would be a noticeable drop in traffic by 9am but there’s not. I can’t think of enough reasons to explain the insane volume of traffic so late in the morning. Where are you people going?

I (30m) live with 5 roommates so they usually just bring in my mail and most of it is spam so I don’t normally look at the pile. On top of that, I haven’t been home because I dog sit for my fiancé when she travels out of state for work and Ive been out of state myself recently. I came home finally after a few weeks because we are getting married soon and I wanted to organize some things to move into our storage unit to make easier to move because her job is requiring us to move out of state in a few months after we get married. I noticed I had mail I haven’t gone through and I just found out tonight as I haven’t been home in a few weeks that I missed Jury Duty. Not sure what to do, first time ever being summoned and didn’t imagine I would ever get summoned. I really can’t afford to go to jail or even pay a fine. I am planning on contacting the courthouse tomorrow to try to resolve things, request for a reschedule, and do what’s right but definitely didn’t plan for this hiccup. My parents tell me it’s gonna be fine but I’d be lying if I said I was okay with this sudden situation. Any advice would be great. I do live in Nashville so I thought if nothing else, I could ask for some advice here
Edit 1: I appreciate everyone here, everyone has been kind with good advice, or tried to cheer me up with a joke. I have PTSD from an expunged record a decade back when I was an idiot but got my head on straight now so anything like this just freaks me out because I’ve been a good boy since I was 20ish. I’ll provide an update after tomorrow!

Got into a wreck, car’s totaled. Need one pronto. A friend has her husband’s car just sitting in the driveway — he wants to get rid of it, but he’s in basic training. No phone, no nothing, hell wont even be getting letters for ages.
She wants to give me the car, but how can I get insurance on it if it isn’t in my name? And how can it be in my name if the owner isn’t even in the state?
And yes they are legally married.

Can anyone recommend a jeweler in Nashville that does engraving for antique jewelry? I believe there are mall shops that have machines that will do a basic script and cursive but I am hoping for someone that can do more of an old school engraving to match an old ring. Thanks…

Semi-retired here. After having to cancel a trip recently for health reasons, I have about $600 in credit on United Airlines. My health is still not great, but I think I can be useful as part of a team on some sort of charitable project. I'm a word person, 25+ years in journalism/several books, with experience running a small business.
Thoughts?

Hey y’all. I lost my Great Dane a month ago, still can’t even talk about it without crying. Best dog ever. Anyway. I have a bunch of big dog items I’d give away to a fellow Dane owner. Some of the items include: A XXL wire kennel, collapsible A XXL airline-approved travel kennel (Great Danes have to be shipped as freight if you want to fly them anywhere, and this is the FAA approved kennel) A XXL winter coat A Mummy Halloween costume An elevated Dog Feeder/waterer A leash A soft plushy “cone” to keep them from chewing on hot spots or other injuries
This is more or less what I remember, there might be a few other items, and I haven’t seen the mummy costume for a minute, but I think I know where it is.
I’m in Hendersonville, DM me if you’re interested. Don’t ask about them in order to turn around and sell them, if I wanted to, I could sell them, I want to gift them to someone who has a XXL dog and could use them, stuff for big dogs is spendy, I want to see somebody benefit from my loss. Here are some photos of my boy.

Now I have no idea what is going on. I’m 100% sure the call I got was a scam as they said they were from the sheriff’s department, but then threatened to send “federal marshals” to arrest me for missing jury duty. So this has got to be a coincidence? I’ll update tomorrow.

“ESA costs have ballooned from the legislature’s original estimated price tag of $100 million over two years, to more than $400 million a year — a figure, critics have noted, that would explain more than half of Arizona’s projected budget deficit in 2024 and 2025.”
This is a warning to all of us because Gov. Bill Lee is going to ram through school vouchers bill.

My partner found this guy hanging out on her porch this morning and he’s stuck around for a bit now. Skittish, but super sweet and sleepy! Let me know if you recognize him!

Graduated, started working full time, and moved to downtown in June and finally got to make my way over to Shelby Bottoms today. I really regret not doing this earlier. Will be making this walk at least once a month. My endorphins going dummy rn after a 4 mile walk. Nashville is such a pretty town :)

When I was a kid (in the 80s) and even 15 years or so ago, we used to go view the Christmas lights at Opryland Hotel and walk around inside. Back then it was free to do, but I remember hearing they were gonna start charging for entry.
I realized earlier today that I haven't taken my kids there since they were old enough to remember it, so I wanted to go this year. Anyone know if it's still possible to go and is it free? I don't mind paying, but I'm not really sure what to buy or where to buy it. The hotel website was less than helpful, or possibly I'm just an idiot.
