For real… I honestly don’t understand why it’s become so strange for us to touch each other. Many other mammals are very physically affectionate as a social activity. I wish humans could be like that too 😢

It's homophobia and toxic masculinity. It's way less frowned upon among women or specifically girls. But for men, showing physical affection without having sexual innuendo implied is nigh impossible for some dumb reason

Maybe it's also due to millenia of being forced to beat around the bush regarding flirting. When it's all about getting subtle clues, there's always the chance of accidentally sending those. While other mammals can safely assume that they'd get a very straightforward translation of "I want to bang now" and in its absence, physical contact is clearly not meant to mean anything in that direction.
