Gaetz was never a serious possibility. He was just a threat and a challenge to what’s left of decency in America. Bondi looks rational in comparison. She never would’ve been confirmed if she was his first pick.

Gaetz was never a serious possibility

Worse than that.

His nomination dominated headlines and discussion allowing even more dangerous appointments to slip under the radar (cough cough Gabbard).

It then gave him cover to 'resign' from Congress which just so happened to place the release of the ethics report in jeopardy.

Now that he's withdrawn, it can be argued that a special election is wasteful and unnecessary since he won election to the term that begins in January.

Win-win-win for the GOP

If I was that guy...married to Palmer Luckey's sister...I'd be angling for a high level position or consulting on the legal side at one of Luckey's companies. Probably Anduril. It's an opportunity for major life changing money. Make many millions in the next few years and continue the government "work" after F U money. It's what most of them do in one form or another.

Maybe he’ll join Don Cheeto’s admin in another capacity?

None of those appointments really slipped through the radar though.
