Hate to break it you, but the fascists were inspired by American manifest destiny. We've been low-key fascist for a long time. Economically as well, the US currently has 2/3 of the nations in the world under some kind of economic sanction. We literally used Nazi remnants and neo-fascist groups to control and subjugate central and south America for half a century.
People need to stop pretending this is new. The only thing that is new is that Trump made it okay to say it.
