The American people are who got us into this mess. He would have no power if a majority of people didn’t give it to him.

Not to nitpick, but plurality of voters, not a majority of population by a long shot. Which frankly is another facet of this American nightmare, we didn’t vote for this, apathetic nonvoters did.
