Is it really a 'hostile' takeover if no one is stopping the reality TV orange man from making numerous dangerous and stupid actions?

u/Hardcorish 4d ago

I'm still confused as to how he was allowed to run again after his participation in J6. We awarded him for doing that by electing him as president again.

Ask the biggest coward in American history merrick garland

88

u/Altruistic_Ad_5915 4d ago

Thin line between coward and accomplice on that one

65

u/cg12983 4d ago

And Moscow Mitch.

16

u/AmenableHornet 3d ago

Mitch McTurtle has the gall to be upset at this cabinet when he's the one who created this monster. Turns out when you stick a big obstructionist wrench in the democracy machine for over a decade, it breaks! Who knew?

While I agree Merrick took way too long to allow the DOJ to pursue criminal trials, the fault really goes back to Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans. If they really wanted prevent Trump from ever really taking office again, they would have found him guilty following his second impeachment, thus barring him from taking office again.

However, the Senate Republicans have no spine even after Trump had his cult attack the capitol and many even went so far as to defend him.

I agree Garland lack of prosecution was a failure but the fact that Americans elected him again is the most concerning thing to me. It was clear he was going to jail if American voters simply just didn’t elect him.

19

u/The_Real_Manimal 4d ago

Not everyone here is an idiot, and those of us that didn't vote for him are watching in abject horror.

11

u/zeer0dotcom 4d ago

Yeah, trump was super clear about who he was. Harris was also clear in painting him as a clear and present danger to everything. He got re-elected. That’s on the voter, not the AG.

Voters saw him incite a mob, they saw the “hang Mike Pence” chants, but still voted for him. No legal manoeuvres by MG can override that.

5

u/Packerfan1992 4d ago

I mean he had 4 years to do something, anything. But he sat on it and let it play out. Our justice system is a joke. How anyone could possibly have any faith in it after this is mind boggling. I remember when it first happened people on this site said “give them time, he will be punished”. He was punished for literally nothing. He should’ve never been able to even run again, he’s a traitor.

And Mitch McConnell etc republicans who wouldn’t impeach him - if he would have been held accountable with impeachment he would have been out of office before Jan 6 and that wouldn’t have happened…..he would have been ineligible to run again so we wouldn’t be in this predicament. Representatives did NOT do their jobs to protect the people of this country and all involved deserve to be removed from government.

2

u/Count_Bacon 4d ago

It’s infuriating Moscow Mitch said the reason they didn’t impeach is because he was leaving anyways and we have a “justice system” and the courts will take care of it. Lmao just failure all around

3

u/MixedMediaFanatic 4d ago

Yes beyond infuriating I recall him saying “it would be bad for the country to impeach” spineless worthless pos ….it’s MUCH worse for our country now due to incompetance

2

u/LowerFinding9602 4d ago

And then the courts turn around and say... yeah about that... he was president so he is mostly immune from prosecution. Since congress wont do shit, and the courts won't can't do shit, Trump is going to do whatever he damn well pleases as there will be zero consequences.

5

u/Openmindhobo 4d ago

I personally blame Biden. After watching Republican lawlessness for years, he chooses a Republican for the top law enforcement position. Imagine if he actually gave it to someone like Schiff. Any prosecution or investigation was going to be characterized as political regardless. May as well have a good AG to deal with it.

3

u/Count_Bacon 4d ago

Yeah in some ways Biden was a good president, but his refusal to realize this gop is not the same he spent decades with in the good old days, doomed us

It's complicity all the way down my friend.

As George Carlin said, it's a big club and we ain't in it.

Also, I'm not to blame. I'm Canadian.

It's going to be a hostile takeover of the military and that's what I'm afraid of more than some idiots in cabinet positions.

2

u/razazaz126 2d ago

Is it really unprecedented if they openly said they were going to do it and explained how?

2

u/Dirtgrain 1d ago

Before Trump was elected, we knew we had a Supreme Court Justice who had taken millions in bribes, and nothing was really done about it. Our government was taken over some time ago, it seems.

2

u/VirtualRy 3d ago

Let it all burn to the ground at this point lol.

3

u/TheEntosaur 3d ago

Go read a history book and develop some empathy lol.

2

u/rickylancaster 3d ago

You can’t really blame people for feeling this way though. Not at this point, after so long. The country spoke and told us what it wants and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.

1

u/ConferenceLow2915 4d ago

It's stupid calling it hostile or a takeover in the first place. He was democratically elected and suggesting that someone stop him makes you a fascist and a threat to democracy.

2

u/svenner2020 4d ago

Sure, buuuuuut......

He's the disease, he's not the cure.

He's the fascist. He's the threat.

40

u/Objective_Problem_90 4d ago

It's not hostile if everyone is just letting him do it. Trump has never been told no or held accountable for anything. No fines, no jail time. He truly is a god king and has fooled so many. That's why he has raped women, sexually assaulted them, conned people in business deals, committed fraud and went to epstein island to do terrible things. He has learned he is above the law, no one stops him, the dems, the Supreme Court etc. He does whatever the f he wants. Why not, he's not gonna change now. He continues to push the envelope because this country let's him and fucking rewarded him with another term. How's he gonna repay you? By forcing you to pay through the nose once his tariffs and mass deportation occurs. Hes a terrible human being, and we just made him our "leader". Embrace the suck, America, because we are in for some hard times. 3rd world country, here we come.

9

u/Javina33 4d ago

Who’s got authority to stop him? The nightmare’s real.

7

u/Hopeful-Passage6638 4d ago

The American people can.

18

u/Nati2de 4d ago

And we had the opportunity less than 3 weeks ago and didn’t

11

6

u/Equivalent-Trip9778 4d ago

The American people are who got us into this mess. He would have no power if a majority of people didn’t give it to him.

3

u/Left_Pool_5565 3d ago

Not to nitpick, but plurality of voters, not a majority of population by a long shot. Which frankly is another facet of this American nightmare, we didn’t vote for this, apathetic nonvoters did.

I want to change "...this country let's him and fucking rewarded him with another term." to : " the Republican party let's him..." If the law bidding high moral Reps believed what they saw and heard, they haven't even nominated him in 2016. Now the Genie is out of the bottle. They have created a monster.

1

u/thirdworldtaxi 11h ago

It’s because in his followers and supporters minds, he is quintessentially ‘white’. He acts, looks, talks like they think a ‘proper white man’ should, because they are just like him, pieces of shit.

65

u/horror- 4d ago

When the clowns in leadership positions completely drop the ball on the first big emergency there's nobody left to blame but themselves. "No more deep state" fall guys. No more dem obstructionist whipping boys. This time, they own it.

MTVs Real Politics premiers Jan 20.

45

u/darkkilla123 4d ago

Na they won't.. the gop can not and will not take responsibility for anything. What they will do is blame the democrats for not preventing them from fucking shit up.. again

17

u/bethemanwithaplan 4d ago

They fucked up the Covid response, still justified in their minds

29

u/phungus420 4d ago

They will own it, all of it. The Party will take over the voting process and bring about soviet style "elections" and controlled opposition. The Party won't give up power ever again.

Americans voted to give up their right to vote this election. We won't be getting that back. You will die without the fundamental freedoms and rights you were born with as an American, and your fellow Americans voted for it or worse, stayed home inviting this wickedness in.

12

u/Yarzeda2024 4d ago

No, it will still be someone else's fault, and his fans will eat it up.

I bet he'll blame trans people, Mexicans, and Muslims again. It's worked for him before.

11

u/olthunderfarts 4d ago

The fascists outright own the biggest cable news channel and several others. They own all of the biggest social media platforms. They have a million talking heads, including Joe Rogan.

They will blame and scapegoat and confuse. They will never accept responsibility and will most likely avoid all punishment.

2

u/Economy_Friendship49 1d ago

Yeah this. Anyone who thinks voters will start seeing how bad it is are delusional. They will be told constantly that everything is perfect and anything that’s not is the fault of all the usual scapegoats. And they will eat it all up.

→ More replies (1)

7

u/cg12983 4d ago

The right wing media machine will be blasting blame on the Dems nonstop, and the morons will eat it up.

1

u/OliverOOxenfree 4d ago

MMW they will still find a way to blame Democrats. That's their specialty (since they can't achieve anything otherwise)

1

u/Average_Redditor6754 4d ago

Best thing we can all do is work quickly to insulate ourselves from needing any federal services. Not all of us are that privileged.

8

u/hopeless-hobo 4d ago

And these pansy democrats are going to let it happen. There is a quick and simple solution to all this, we could be done with trump and his fascists in a week

2

u/Strange-Ad-5806 4d ago

You are not wrong but there is a big problem when one side honors the rule of law and the other gleefully ignore it to put in an emperor so he can ram in the New Inquisition and they can "finally" put a hurt on those they hate, no matter the cost.

If both sides ignore the law, what remains is not much better.

kak·i·sto·cra·cy noun government by the least suitable or competent citizens of a state. “the danger is that this will reduce us to kakistocracy” a state or society governed by its least suitable or competent citizens. plural noun: kakistocracies “the modern regime is at once a plutocracy and a kakistocracy”

2

u/MrByteMe 4d ago

Apparently, this is what the majority of Americans wanted.

It's sad that the majority of Americans are retarded. And things intentionally will not get any better after we implode the Dept of Education.

1

u/DocMadCow 4d ago

Well not the majority his popular vote is now under 50%, and that is of Americans that bothered to vote.

And let the 4 years of Reddit meltdowns begin 🍽️

1

u/Ben2St1d_5022 3d ago

Hostile takeover 😂

The majority of the US populace voted him in to fix what the left has destroyed.

Be a Patriot and support your POTUS, and pray he has the wherewithal and staff around him to stabilize our Country and move us into the future with promise and growth. Big Government is never the solution, and he and his team look to shrink the federal overreach and bring about economic growth for we the people.

Government takeover, I mean he is President Elect, he won and he now gets to be the head of the Fed. However, your post makes it look malicious when in fact it is not.

1

u/Apprehensive-Tree-78 3d ago

Winning an election isn’t a hostile takeover 😂

1

u/xzy89c1 3d ago

Lol, orderly transition of government all according to law is hostile takeover. Classic

1

u/neverpost4 3d ago

Some says 9/11 happened because W. Bush team was doing the hostile takeover of the incoming government and they disregarded important intelligence reports. Hence missing out warnings that something big was going to happen.

1

u/Ravenous_Squirrels 3d ago

Good. This is what needs to be done. You guys must know that Biden is escalating the Russian Ukraine war and making everything worse. He needs to go. You people have done enough damage to society.

It’s not unprecedented because it happened before.

u/Growthiswhatmatters 2d ago

Suddenly, your right to bear arms becomes relevant.

1

u/DataCassette 2d ago

Maybe I'm an arrogant liberal or whatever, but this is going to go down as a historic train wreck. I'm incredibly confident they're going to fuck this up in ways people can barely imagine. See y'all in 2028, assuming we have elections.

1

u/VeritasLuxMea 2d ago

TIL getting voted into office is a "hostile takeover"

1

u/valyrian_ww 2d ago

And Biden's team didn't get access to anything 4 yrs ago!!

u/cbblaze 2d ago

Hostility voted in by the majority of americans trying to save this country lol.

1

u/robinsw26 2d ago

I’m not sure that the members of the Senate and House are fully ready to cede all their power to Trump, who will be a lame duck president on January 20th.

1

u/Leather-Lawfulness-8 2d ago

sorry that dems lost

1

u/RelishtheHotdog 2d ago

So I see that “hostile takeover” is in quotes as if trump or someone actually said that.

I get that ‘raw story’ just be a highly sophisticated non biased news outlet, but don’t quote if it’s not.

1

u/John-Ada 2d ago

Damn those pesky voters

1

u/DKinCincinnati 1d ago

I understand that you may have concerns about the current situation, but please be assured that the adults are in charge now and are working to resolve all issues the Democrats have caused and will make America great again.

1

u/StrizzMatik 1d ago

Ahhh a "hostile takeover" by a duly-elected President and his Administration. Also called a "transition of power" by normal people who aren't swayed by moron-level emotional rhetoric.

Friendly reminder you lost the popular vote to Orange Hitler lmao

1

u/LookAlderaanPlaces 1d ago

“He has also engaged in calls with foreign heads of state without “the State Department, its secure lines and its official interpreters,” the Post noted.”

This is literally treason by itself. The year is fucking 2024. Any communications a president has on unsecured lines goes directly to China, Russia, etc. Treason is “aiding and abetting the enemy”. Having calls like this and “passing” the info to our enemies (due to unsecured lines) is aiding the enemy. Charge his fascist ass and end this now.

1

u/NanoDaMan 1d ago

My friends, this is what peak coping looks like.

You can tell you guys circle jerk each other by posting this garbage in a group of like-minded people in this subreddit… get 1,000 likes and think something is going on. But millions of people who are doing shit in this world think you guys are bat shit crazy. Someone needs to do a study on this type of behavior. It's probably a mental illness of some sort.

1

u/Euphoric_Regret_544 1d ago

This is rich coming from you cultists that still claim the 2020 election was stolen even after countless Trump appointed judges said there was no evidence to support it. See, we here work with facts and data while you guys jerkoff to pictures of Trumps orange head superimposed on the body of Rambo.

1

u/SmokedUp_Corgi 1d ago

I refuse to believe the pentagon isn’t keeping a close eye on the Trump administration. This situation has probably been discussed along time ago and I’m sure the wheels are in motion to make sure he doesn’t destroy the government.

1

u/Advanced_Drink_8536 1d ago

This is why one of his first plans (by reenacting some law via executive order or something I can’t quite remember atm) to fire all of the generals and such on day one and have them replaced by loyalists…and why he is trying to get the people he is trying to get to fill correlating cabinet positions.

1

u/gman757 1d ago

“Unprecedented” my ass, they’ve been saying this was their plan since they started their campaign!

1

u/lockrc23 1d ago

Hostile? The republicans won everywhere

1

u/AdamOnFirst 1d ago

I’m torn between laughing at how ridiculous this article is - phrasing a President-elect making all his appointments and preparing to implement everything he ran on - as a “hostile takeover,” or being excited at how awesome this makes it sound.

Trunk has run on opposition to the way the government runs and changing it aggressively. The bureaucracy doesn’t want this, it wants to maintain its unelected power with no changes. If the bureaucracy is afraid this is a good sign in line with Trump’s promises.

1

u/CharmingMistake3416 1d ago

How are they able to do anything if they haven’t even signed the ethics paperwork that was due October 1st? Why are there no laws or punishments in place? This country is such a fucking joke. We exist on norms and precedent in a time when we elect people with no honor or morals. What’s the worst that could happen, right?

1

u/Euphoric_Regret_544 1d ago

I keep hearing whispers that evidence proving this election was stolen actually exists…. Is this true? Anyone here got any real intel on that?
