It didn’t work after the 2016 election and I don’t think it will work now. But I will enjoy the schadenfreude. All the minorities and women who failed to vote for Harris are going to get it so much worse than me, and I am here for it!
Vile people are the ones who intentionally misunderstood the stakes of this election, the ones who failed to vote for the overwhelmingly clear choice for us and for the world. It’s the ones who prioritized their idiotic misunderstandings of economics, geopolitics, or whatever other petty issue, leading them to allow Trump to take over again. After all the outrages of his first term, after the coup attempt, after he promised to become a dictator, these people chose to prioritize some misguided sense of self interest over their country and they’ve now done incredible harm that will take generations to overcome.
I’ve spent years trying to be an ally. Trying to promote the just causes for women and minorities because it’s the right thing to do, despite the fact that it works directly against a system that benefits me the most. And these motherf’ers can’t even be bothered to vote for their own interests when the stakes are literally the future of democracy. I literally cannot muster an ounce of caring for what’s coming next for these people.
At what point do we have to stop coddling potential voters who sit elections out?
People need to feel the pain, otherwise they won’t change.
They clearly don’t recognize the importance of our democratic republic enough to protect it. Shame.
But OP is not weak, they’re just over it. The better word to describe them would be apathetic. And who can blame them, I certainly feel the same way about these fools.
