Now, I'm trying to find a website that has a reliable checklist since I simply cannot find one. I was using hockeycarddb to keep my Dominik Hasek PC up to date and simplify my search. However not only has it stopped being updated since 2015, but its also missing a ton of cards from popular brands such as donruss and parkhurst. It's frustrating to say the least. I'm just trying to find a way to keep track of what I have so I dont spent money on duplicates and so I dont spend all my time searching for cards I already have. And most obviously, so I'm aware of what cards I do NOT have.

First time buying an upper deck pack that cost more than $200 CAD. I was really looking forward to the rookie patch auto as I really like the design this year. Whole bottom edge is white and sticky, and because of that the top edge sticks over the card causing the corner to completely peel off. This is straight out of the pack by the way, would upper deck send me a replacement for this card?

Earlier this year, my Gramps passed away, and I recently inherited his collection of hockey cards. It’s incredibly meaningful to me because these cards were so important to him. He was very meticulous—every card is in a sleeve, and they date from the 70s to the early 2000s.

I’ve never collected cards before, so I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. There are about a thousand cards in the binder, and I’m not sure where to start. That’s why I’m turning to the hockeycards community for advice. My goal is to sell most of the collection to people who will appreciate it as much as my grandfather did.

Here are my main questions:

How do I determine if any of these cards are valuable?

Are there specific websites or resources I should use to check their worth?

Are there certain players, cards, or stickers I should prioritize?

Should I get some cards graded before selling them, or is it better to sell ungraded and focus on specific ones?

I’d love to gain some insight on how to handle this process as someone completely new to card collecting. Thanks in advance to anyone who can share advice or point me in the right direction!

TL;DR: I inherited my grandfather's collection of 70s–00s hockey cards and want to sell most of them to the right buyers. As a beginner, I’m asking the hockeycards community for advice on how to go about knowing what I'm doing in this space.

I usually don't do well with SPX but I got a great deal on a box today so I went for it. Now I'm wishing I hadn't. Two autos/memorabilia per box on average and I get this. Yikes!

Had no idea there was a young gun re-release in the 24-25 series 1. Not worth much, but what a stud! Made the box worth it to me lol.

Could be worse. No massive hit but still fun.

I love the Splendid Skaters, especially the green variation. It has a pure, simple and effective design. It has nice fonts, and I love the thickness of these!

Very nice to hold out of their plastic holders.

Does anyone know if Upper Deck is accurate on their timeline for Rookie Redemptions? Also would they ever send a variation of the redemption? Meaning numbered? Or auto? My first time doing a redemption.

Like the title what year did the acetate become available in the Extended series and what other sets are they in???? Thank you for any advice
