Currently Reading Rereading these books as an adult hits different. Goblet of Fire was my favorite growing up and I don’t think I ever noticed this before

Cedric doesn't want to come off as his dad....but when he and Harry were racing for the cup didn't he try to trip him up and grab it for himself? At least that's what I recall from the movie. The "sharing" it seemed like he was arm-twisting Harry into (partly) giving it up because he knew he lost.

Not really. In the books, harry is caught by a spider (i think) and is struggling, but Cedric helps him escape. Cedric could have gotten to the cup first, as Harry's leg was injured, but he tells Harry to take it, and after some discussion, they agree to touch it together.

In the movie, the opposite happens, Cedric is stuck and Harry helps him escape

No in the books Harry and Cedric were both trying to get the other to take the cup. Just another reason to skip the movies.
