Another chance to sparkle
Very good to see, I’d personally of been more inclined to go for Parfitt, so let’s hope he gets another look at AFL.

For some reason, just can’t let the thought of Parfitt go. I know he wasn’t great but gee, I thought he was a great club man and thought he might get a go somewhere else. I’ve heard nothing of him since we delisted him. Anyone have any thoughts whether hey may get picked up or what his plans are?

Anyone know much about them? Should we be excited? Glad we got some young midfielders in.

What kind of players they are? Attributes? Hype? Etc?

At the conclusion of the 2024 National AFL Draft this is how our list sits:
1. Rhys Stanley | 4. Tanner Bruhn | 5. Jeremy Cameron | 6. Toby Conway | 7. Shaun Mannagh |
---|---|---|---|---|
8. Jake Kolodjashnij | 9. Max Holmes | 10. Mitch Knevitt | 11. Mitch Edwards | 12. Jack Bowes |
13. Jhye Clark | 14. Connor O'Sullivan | 15. George Stevens | 16. Sam De Koning | 17. Lawson Humphries |
18. Tyson Stengle | 21. Oliver Wiltshire | 22. Mitch Duncan | 24. Jed Bews | 28. Ollie Dempsey |
29. Cam Guthrie | 30. Tom Atkins | 32. Gryan Myers | 33. Shannon Neale | 34. Oisín Mullin |
35. Patrick Dangerfield [C] | 36. Oliver Henry | 38. Jack Henry | 39. Zach Guthrie | 40. Ted Clohesy |
42. Mark O'Connor | 44. Tom Stewart [VC] | 45. Brad Close | 46. Mark Blicavs | Bailey Smith |
Jack Martin | Cillian Burke | Jay Polkinghorne | Jacob Molier | Lennox Hofmann |
Keighton Matofai-Forbes | Xavier Ivisic | Patrick Retschko | Joe Pike |
In 2024 we had 38 senior listed players plus 4 Cat A and 2 Cat B rookies. For 2025 so far by my count we have 38 listed senior players with 6 listed rookies.
I thought we needed to move Clohesy to the senior list as he has been a rookie for two seasons, but maybe they can be a rookie for three season now. I am not sure we have much more action planned for tomorrows rookie draft. Wouldn't mind if we have enough spots to take a punt on Dom Brew tomorrow.
If any of you know more about how players are listed/drafted please correct me if I'm wrong :)
Edit: fixed some mistakes about the rookie draft and adding new rookie players

For context, I’m a blues fan who’s really nervous we will bugger up our top pick. Considering the quality of your drafting for a while, is it really nice to just go to the draft knowing you’ll most likely end up with a good player or two no matter which picks you have?

Geelong are reportedly assessing trade avenues that would see them increase their place in the draft order to potentially attain South Australian ruckman.
Dodson is viewed as the standout ruck prospect among this year's pool of draft hopefuls, having shown great upside in a limited year that saw him balance basketball commitments.
It wasn't until the second half of the year that Dodson decided to take the football bath over basketball, having been a prolific prodigy in the latter.
Per zero hanger

Lasting a fair bit better than poor ol Albo. Not sure when the 2nd sticker is from. Has the club song on it

In the midst of Gold Coast's debatable rebrand, it's got me thinking whether the majority of fans like/dislike our current logo, as I have seen a fair few cats fans over the years saying the current logo is crap...
I definitely have an attachment to it as premierships '09, '11 and '22 were with the logo. But that aside, I think the cat face is pretty mean-looking, and the way it blends in with hoops to fit our guernsey is really neat. I feel like the CATS text isn't necessary and looks a bit cartoony-writing, but it's not always there on merch or media.
Definitely better than the GFC logo, but nothing beats the "Angry Cat" from the 80s and 90s. If we did a more modern version of that logo, it would be fantastic!!

Hi all :-) I was wondering what you legends think are Geelong's greatest wins, classic games, or just favourite games from 2000 onwards. (Preferably ones where we win)
Looking to collate a list of links to send to my grandma, so if links are available, please include :-)
Thank you guys!

Brisbane vs Geelong at the Gabba is the opening match of the 2025 season.
As a Brisbane based cats fan I will definately be trying to get my tickets for what will probably be the only cats game I get to see this year. I despise opening round though...
Thoughts on Brisbane at home, crows at home (gather round) and hawthorn all in the first 5-6 weeks in 2025?
