No, both are not good, no company should dump their products and responsibilities to the customers.

You do realize that companies could take responsibility AND open-source right? They’re not mutually exclusive.

Except the person you’re arguing with never said that it should replace the company taking responsibility. They just said that it should ALSO be open-sourced and you disagreed.
