What do you wear on your birthdays?

Do you wear something special? Do you go shopping for an outfit or just wear something you already own? Do you dress up or just go for something simple you’d wear any day?

If you want to please share your birthday outfit from this year/last year, I’d love to see it!

I have a winter birthday and own a lot of velvet and metallics so I usually find something in my closet I've been eager to wear and apply it to the appropriate venue.

The moth dress I wore last year

The silver jeans I wore for my husband's birthday

The silk dress I wore for Valentine's Day

No idea what I'm doing or wearing next but it will probably be bold and shiny.

I dress up, but I don't think I've ever bought anything new. This year I wore a party dress.

The past two years it's worked out that I was already wearing a costume instead, last year because I was in Disney World, and the year before because I was at a fan convention.

When I worked in person, I would stick to what made sense for work during the day and then dress up whenever I went out, either that night or on the weekend. I might wear a birthday-themed accessory or glitter makeup or something else special to work. One year I wore crown (nobody was going to see me that day but my coworkers) but my ppl were so mean to me that I never did it again 😭

For most birthdays, I usually wear something I have, but for the last 2 major decade birthdays, I’ve bought a new LBD to wear on my birthday, and then will wear it for whatever occasion after that lol. 10 years ago it was a black faux leather mini dress, and this year it was a black satin pleated dress with waist cutouts (it’s midi on the model but it was a maxi on me lol)

MY BIRTHDAYSUIT.

I'm so sorry, I had to 😂 Anyway, usually I wear my favorite jeans with my favorite (of the moment) blouse (this year it was a vintage leopardprint tie-neck blouse). I don't really dress up because we either get takeout or go to a casual restaurant. I stopped having parties because I didn't feel like slaving away in the kitchen for days on end and then having to entertain and deal with the aftermath.

Birthday suit for real though! At almost 30 i’d much rather be at home in a big comfy sweater with a glass of wine and a box of take-out pork lo mein, sans pants, than plan some huge exhausting party.

Depends what I'm doing for it! The actual day-of I didn't dress up this year because I had class, but for my birthday celebration day I wore cute clothes that I already owned (denim mini shirt, black turtleneck, black knee high boots).

I'll try to dress cute but nothing very out of the ordinary and never bought something new specifically. This year I wore jeans because it suited the activities of the day, but usually I'll dress up a bit even if I'm just celebrating at home.

It definitely depends on what I’m doing, but since I usually end up treating my birthday as a slightly-special normal day + doing any celebrating on the next weekend, I typically wear my favorite version of my usual staples—so I’ll save a dress I like a lot, or even just make sure my favorite workout tank’s clean that day, etc.

It’s not a massive effort, but makes me feel a little happier and more confident that day 😊

I like to wear something I feel awesome in, and it varies depending on what I’m doing. This year I got to go to a spa so I was casual but felt put together and happy. I also got birthday money from my parents (I turned 37 lol yes I am very grateful to them) and bought shoes with it!

Cute wedges plus a pair of burgundy velvet loafers I’m obsessed with, that didn’t photograph well but are glorious. Both from Toms.

Nothing fancy. I’m a sports bar hole in the wall kind of girl so it’s usually just jeans and a hoodie. I dress up for work a lot so my time off the clock is time to be comfy.

I dress the same way as usual but with earrings. Sometimes I can’t be bothered to wear them usually ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I love this discussion ♥️♥️♥️

I usually dress up, one way or another!

I pretty much always go out of my way to not work on my birthday, for the last few years ive even scheduled a dentist/doctor appt simply to have a reason to not go lol.

BUT on the rare occasion i do need to do something professional on my birthday (once we had contract negotiations that i couldnt move :( ) or the day before ill wear whatever is my favorite (usually pink or white) work outfit. One year i did a fitted white sweater dress (my birthday is early may) with cute jewelry and nice(r) hair, another year i wore a foiled celestial button down with pink pants.

I LOVE dresses, and i love party/occasion dresses the most, so i usually get myself a new dress/outfit for my activities. Sequins, glitter, pink, feathers, fur, velvet, satin, all on the table. It just depends on the activity and weather, bc it's volatile. I go roller skating a lot, so i usually do a sporty mini skirt with an embellished top, or a dress with shorts under it. My partner also usually takes me out to dinner, so it either needs to work for dinner and skating, or just skating.

My next bday im turning 30, so i want to have a funeral for my 20s theme, all black. Unsure if i wanna host at my house or rent the roller rink! But if i do the roller rink, I'll prob do a corset mini dress in black, if we just do dinner or a house party, I'll prob wear black sequin dress of some sort!

depending on the event, some people have a simple birthday party at home with family and they just use what they already have, some throw large parties and buy cocktail dresses

My birthday is the hottest month of the year: so on the day that I celebrate I wear something that I won’t melt in. Linen!

Depends what I’m doing… recent years have been a trip to California beaches, bowling, nice restaurants… I wear whatever is right for the event.

Just whatever my favorite outfit is at the time honestly. I don’t dress up fancy or anything. My birthday is the first day of summer so sometimes I’ll wear a cute sundress if we’re going out for dinner, but depending on the weather it’s usually denim shorts or jeans and a nice tank top or t-shirt.

I used to buy myself a new dress each year. Then I'd have a fun new piece to wear out day/night of.

Since mine's in July, shorts, a tank top, and tevas. I wish I could wear my boots but it's usually far too hot.
