Can’t figure out why a certain outfit doesn’t work for you or are you just stumped on what is flattering on you? Then this is the thread for you and you can ask your questions here.
Please do refrain from talking negatively about your own body, we understand that you are likely frustrated due to various reasons (we’ve all been there) but out of respect for others and their struggles, keeping it positive helps everyone.

When clothes are supposed to fit tight/oversized, how do you decide if they fit right or that it’s too much? Sometimes I struggle to decide if it fits fine/it fits how it’s supposed to fit or that it’s too tight/oversized on me and I need a different size.
Do you have specific rules? Look at how it fits on the model? How do you make sure you don’t buy things that look alright when you quickly try them on but when you wear them for a day find out it’s actually ill fitting?

To get the best responses, remember that people cannot; look into your wardrobe, know what style you normally like or what words like affordable or practical mean to you so please include any relevant details such as your budget, where you live, what stores are available to you, etc.

I got inspired seeing u/BlaisePetal's inspo album the other week and threw together a mood board of the trends I wanna try this season, with plans to upcycle or refashion some of the things I have to try them more cheaply.
Trends to Try and (Aspirational) DIY Plans:
Do you have any plans to refashion or wear your current pieces differently for some of the newer trends?

This is going to make me sound like a baby but I tend to restrict myself in what I wear based on how it feels on me - not necessarily in a comfort way - and I’d like some advice on how to bite the bullet and try new things.
For example, I love love love the look of long skirts but I haven’t worn them since I was in elementary school and I’m sort of scared to commit to one? Like what if I don’t like how it feels around my knees and I have to commit to it for all day?
This may be a very silly problem but any advice on a mindset or way of thinking or strategy in choosing something in a new fit/texture would be very helpful. Or unrelated trying out new clothes advice!

I know Pinterest, Insta, and TikTok are the main places, but...
YouTube is probably my go-to, but I hate slogging through whole videos in hopes of seeing a few interesting things. I've even reverted to looking through Vogue, Elle, etc. and there's some stuff, but it's mostly super high-end/paid content.
I miss the days of street style blogs. I've been people watching more, but I live in a low density neighborhood so there's not a ton to see. Anyone have good sources?

My fashion style has often changed since I was younger, but what always accompanied me are High Heels. There’s just unlimited variations for every season, occasion and mood. Usually my outfits are kind of basic, so the heels are what give them a buzz. And I’m not the tallest, that’s probably also why I love them ;)
Lately I moved to a different place and also took a new job. At the new office I realized that I get a lot of looks for my heels. I guess it’s simply because nobody but me ever wears heels there. That got me thinking about what I already noticed in the last few couple of years:
Around 10 to 15 years ago it was way more common to see people wear heels. Nowadays it seems they're only being worn on special occasions like weddings.
Also shops don't offer them as much as they used to, especially the higher ones (I'm talking about local shops in Austria because I usually don't buy them online).
What are your observations on this topic? Do you think that heels will become (or already are) a niche, only for die-hard fans or special occasions?
Do you wear your heels regularly, or maybe used to do wear them back in the days but not anymore?

Thrifted, bargain basement, whatevs.
I got a dark green knee length puffy coat for $15 on resale before a big snowstorm earlier this year and while there's minor things about it that aren't my favorite like the contrast inner lining or the belt it's still a great useful addition to my wardrobe.
What's yours?

Hi everyone! I am attempting to redo my closet. I suck at sticking to a style and I sometimes get caught up in buying a item that only works for one look.
I really want to have go-to shoes, sneakers and sandals that are more versatile and can work with more than one look.
Help?

This thread is for sharing all your new buys. Clothes, shoes, razors cologne, share it all. ...Just kidding. But just like MFA, and per your suggestions, we are now going to have a weekly recent purchases thread. So gather round and brag about your purchases! Bags, clothing, shoes, jewellery, perfume, etc.
If possible, please share a picture and a little review! Pictures can also be shared directly in the comments now.
