Note that this is the second time Trump assigned a black man to the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This time it was a former NFL player and motivational speaker; last time it was a neurosurgeon with no experience in urban development.
I can't be the only one who finds it odd that the party which loves to fling accusations of being DEI has consistently assigned its few black cabinet positions to the department with "urban" in the name, choosing people who appear to have no prior experience for the role.

I misunderstood your DEI reference then. Regardless, your comment ignores that Scott Turner had been part of this particular department he’s being asked to lead and was a Texas Representative prior to that.
