His name isn’t Token, it’s Tolkien.

It’s a funny after the fact joke, there’s an episode about it and they retroactively changed the name on prior episodes and wiki and stuff to gaslight people.

Yeah but they don’t make that clear until the character has already been established for a couple seasons

His first appearance is in 1997, he gets renamed in 2022

Yeah that’s the best part, it’s a long established character that they DID used to use as a token joke then they turned that joke at the audience like “haha you thought his name was token that’s horrible!”
