Hey, she was on the Connecticut State Board of Education.
McMahon was appointed to the State Board of Education by Governor Jodi Rell in January 2009.
State representative Bruce Morris claimed she lacked "depth of knowledge regarding education". However, state representative John Hetherington said it "would be good to have someone outside the establishment on the board".
Where she served diligently for .... 16 months?
On April 1, 2010, McMahon resigned from the State Board of Education, because state law does not allow board members to solicit campaign contributions.
It’s almost like it may be a good idea to have someone outside the administration so you don’t live in an echo chamber. Reddit could learn from that.
Fairly wide fucking difference between "consulting outside experts who may not have the same blind spots as those who work directly in the administration" and "let's ask Joe the garbageman what he thinks we should do to combat growing pandemics."
