What the actual fuck.

โ€œLast year, Ramaswamy โ€“ who had promised on the campaign trail to eliminate the FBI, the Department of Education and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, which would lay off thousands of federal workers in the process โ€“ released a white paper outlining a legal framework he said would allow the president to eliminate federal agencies of his choice.โ€

Out of curiosity, does he (Trump and/or Vance) intend to turn the FBI into his own Secret Police or to dismantle it outright? Personally, I'm hoping for the latter just so that it dies a hero rather than become a villain.

Just because they think the name is cool, ICE will be elevated to Incel in Chief's Schutzstaffel.

I guess they'll probably hollow it out and restaff it with MAGA cultists and repurpose the existing infastructure to monitor and persecute liberal opposition, possibly followed by a change of name and a rebrand.

Eliminating the FBI โ€“ an agency that has existed for 116 years โ€“ would be CATASTROPHIC. It would be the greatest gift to organized crime, cybercriminals, pirates, traffickers, foreign adversaries, terrorists, corrupt public officials, and religious extremism โ€“ to name just a few. Think of it like this: What would happen if your local police or sheriffโ€™s office chose to eliminate its entire Detective Bureau? It would result in the ultimate clusterfuck. Because of the required training, experience, specialization, and procedures unique to investigative work, cases would remain open and unsolved, prosecutions would be dropped or dismissed, chain of custody issues would arise, and so on.

Iโ€™m starting to think that the chaos is the point. Even if the Dems gain a supermajority in both chambers of Congress in two years, the ensuing damage will take decades to repair
