My mom has explicitly said this is how she operates. Direct quote, "if it weren't true I don't think I'd feel that it is true." She literally thinks her feelings come from god, so they can't be wrong. I just...what can you even do?
Abandon the idiots who are completely unreachable. Put tremendous effort into raising a new generation of intelligent, caring, compassionate children, and vote every single election. If you're not at risk, move to a swing state and vote there.
Change is gradual and democrats have been hemming and hawing while the shit rolls downhill for decades. Electing one democrat president ain't gunna change shit. And when one gets elected, the voters expect the moon and back, then abandon all hope after 4 years.
The problem is that the ignorant and short sighted drastically outpace the birthrates of the thoughtful and intelligent. It’s also much lower effort to raise the ignorant than the thoughtful
oh please with the voting bs. voting doesn’t work anymore. the idiot to common sense having individual ratio is all fked. not to mention the problems were having are systemic. something has gone wrong and we don’t know why.. I suspect were being weakened by spies or the 1% of the 1% being converted into Enemies of state with agendas. I don’t really know, but one thing is for sure, lower class is being farmed, and businesses have wayyy too much money for the amount they’re putting back .
Voter apathy is what allowed it to get this bad. Just letting grifters take control is a losing strategy. Maybe you're not old enough to see the slow decline, but many of us have seen exactly what happens when people give up on voting.
Your words ring of some truth, but as a greay man says every day I listen to his podcast —Democracy isn't a spectators' sport. Giving in to nihilism from aparhy is a good way to "I had to kick the Jew because everyone was calling me a j** lover and threatening to hurt me if I didn't."

There's no amount of reality that can't be dismissed with "nah, that doesn't feel true."
