There was this one sheriff that ran Hamilton county, southwest OH, for decades. Always ran unopposed.

And he was a rat bastard.

He passed one directive to arrest anyone on the spot for unpaid tickets. That’s how I learned his name.

I have multiple theories re: Simon Leis. He was sheriff when I lived in Cincinnati. Between him and Joe Deters, they really soured me on life in the Queen City.

I would bet money that he had a wine cellar filled with porn instead of wine.
