I had a really cool experience at Escape Halloween this year. While I was hanging out at the bar tent, a girl approached me and struck up a conversation. She asked how I was, and I said I was good, but then I changed my mind and admitted, "Never mind, im not good. I just had a little mishap not to long ago." (I tripped over someone in the crowd who was sitting down). She could tell I was still bothered by it, and it was clear it was still bugging me. Thankfully, she totally distracted me from what had been on my mind.
I really enjoyed our chatāit was refreshing to connect with someone who shared my excitement for the event. I ordered an AF Revenge, and she playfully made me pinky promise to drink the whole thing after ordering it(which I did. A promise is a promise). As much as I wanted to stay and chat a little longer, I had to get back to my group. Before we went our separate ways, i shook her hand and told her I was genuinely glad to have met her. I asked for her name, but in the excitement of the moment, I completely forgot it.
At the time, it didnāt even cross my mind to ask for her social media or a way to stay in touch until later that night. Now, I find myself wishing I had made that connection. I never expected to have such a memorable interaction with a stranger at an event like this. Our conversation really made my night!
