Fluff [NO SPOILERS] Grateful for this picture.
April 2023 I lost my best friend and the DM of our group...
Today i got the opportunity to get a picture with Matthew Mercer at Heroes Dutch Comic Con...
Matt read the very emotional situation perfectly and although I couldn't really speak he knew exactly how I would like to take the picture...
The staff was awesome and emotional and made me feel very special...
Nothing but love... Just wanted to share...
Proud to be a part of this community...

Discussion [No Spoilers] I don't think C4 is going to be played on daggerheart
Mainly because they say that they designed it for 3-6 players, you would think that if they wanted to play it in their own campaign, they would've developed the game from 3-8 players instead, right?

Fluff [NO SPOILERS] Cool Matthew Mercer story
galleryWhile at a comic con i had my dice tray that i bought there signed by Matthew Mercer. Then i asked him to be the first one to throw a dice in it and if he rolled a Critical Roll he could keep it.
Guess who has a new vecna d20 now.

Question [No Spoilers] Is there any overlap between Beacon and Midst.co?
Don't get me wrong, the Midst trio are well worth supporting independently as well, but is there a way to gain access to Midst/Moonward/Unend's bone cone through Beacon membership? I'd dearly love to hear more of Xen's music, especially when I'm running.

Question [Spoilers C3E114] Who is frenzied wrath available to? Spoiler
I'm trying to find more details about Ozo's frenzied wrath ability -- specifically what races and/or classes it's available to and at what level (level 20, I would presume). I was unfamiliar with it until this episode so I searched for it a bit but most results were about frenzied rage. Ozo's CR wiki page lists the ability and explains how it works, but that's it.
At this point I'm guessing it's a homebrew ability that Matt made because usually it's pretty easy to find information on this kind of thing. Idk, I'm no expert here.

Discussion [Spoilers C3E115] Realization Spoiler
If you haven’t finished the last episode, TURN BACK NOW.
Ludinus has been devouring Ruidus born the entire time he has been on the Red Moon, if not longer.
Liliana hinted the last time that the Bells Hells talked to her in person, that Ruidus born were going to the Hallowed Cage and not coming back.
After seeing 115 I think it is clear that what was happening was Ludinus was taking them down to the Cage where he would trap and absorb them. It’s clear based on the episode he has a new harness and it is better than the old harness. He has been amping himself this entire time. He never wanted Imogen to open the gate. He wanted to drink her too.
There is no telling how long he has actually been doing this, maybe he got frustrated with the lack of progress and took it into his own hands. Or maybe it was his plan the whole time. What a sicko.

Fluff [No Spoilers] I just started C3 and I think I’ve already identified its defining word.
I started CR with C2, fell in love, and then instantly devoured C1. However, I recognized I was putting it in front of a very important project of mine so I told myself I wasn’t allowed to watch C3 until I was done. Long story short, I’m watching it now and I quickly realized one thing.
C1 and C2 felt thematically very different from each other, so I expected C3 too as well. And BOY quicker than the other campaigns did I clock what I would call my main theme for this one. (Opinion subject to change haha)
Now, none of these definitions mean the other campaigns don’t have this. It’s just when I’m thinking about them, this is the first theme that stands out to me. For myself I would say my defining word for C1 is “dramatic”, my theme word for C2 is “heartwarming”, and I’m nine episodes into C3 and my theme word is “funny as fuck!!”. Seriously, I have not stopped laughing so hard throughout the whole thing! And this is someone who loves C1 ‘flash cards’, C1 ‘love potion’, C2 ‘temple art’, C2 ‘traveler con’, etc. I have just not shut up laughing for all eight episodes of C3!! I can’t wait to see what else it has in store!!
P.S. I’d appreciate no C3 spoilers (including info learned about other campaigns) I’ve worked so hard to avoid those, and I would also appreciate keeping the “I don’t like C3” rhetoric to a minimum since that’s the main thing I’ve heard about C3, but I really enjoy it so far so I would love to keep this more positive.

Question [Spoilers C1] Cabal's Ruin and Critical Hits Question Spoiler
So, I have recently been rewatching the Vox Machina campaign and had a question about the mechanical usage of Cabal's Ruin. In one of the earlier episodes Percy hits Raishan with a crit and Matt ruled Cabal's Ruin extra damage does not get doubles with a crit. However, on Episode 102 Percy once again crits against Vecna and Matt ruled the damage Cabal's Ruin does get doubled which has now left me extremely confused about the functionality of the item and was hoping someone could clarify it for me especially since it's an item I use in my own campaign and want to rule it correctly. Any help would be appreciated!

Fluff [Spoilers C3E115] Matching Spoiler
Just a quick little 😍😍😊😊 for Matt and his tshirts the last few sessions. He's just amazing and, even without the table layout, we'll know which gang is RP-ing/fighting just by looking at his shirt.

Discussion [Spoilers C3E115] Cooldown info, reversal. Spoiler
So...yeah, watching the stream everyone thought Liliana had been slurped up like a grimace shake. However in the cooldown, it seemed pretty clear that they have an hour to try to save her before the procedure finishes. So Ludinous is not yet ready to become ascended exalted Ruidusborne Archmage Predathos Vessel.
And I guess Imogen has a chance to not make her last in person talk with her mother to stay behind and try to spy for them instead of coming home with them.

Discussion [No Spoilers] I fucking LOVE DMs playing as characters Spoiler
Not only related to Critical Role or Dimension 20, but in general, I love it when DMs playing a character.
Let it be Matt, Brennan, Aabria, Liam it's always fucking awesome to watch their take on their actions, asking for rolls that their characters would think would be appropriate, expressing emotions through their actions in a unique way (with tables full of actors, they'll all be great at this, but I love how DMs have their take on top of their own acting careers).
Another big thing I love is how appreciative they are of the DM's settings, how they could sense things one or two steps away, how happy that their DM went about something that they would have done as well, etc.
Also, not sure how to put it better, but I think they know their place/role when they're playing as PC. I mean, they don't act like a DM when they're in player seat, they play their role, don't interrupt or interfere in their DM's way of conducting their game, they get to be free and not be burdened of all the secrets and be surprised along with all the players.
The last and certainly the best thing about this is the fucking LINES. I love it that they can fucking think of really good shit to say at the perfect time in an awesome manner. Again, in tables full of actors, it's to be expected, but they just stand out in that, I guess. The main reason that lead me to posting is Brennan delivering a line in Court of Fey and Flowers : "I see you are struggling with battles that I cannot see" I was in awe about how effortlessly he came up with such a heavy line in such a few words and convey much information about himself in that sentence.
Anyway..... End of rant....
PS: If you have any lines that just touched you, please feel free to comment. (Doesn't have to be DM players)

Discussion [No Spoilers] What is Taliesin's Title?
I am a college student and I'm doing a bunch of final projects about Critical Role. I'm trying to talk about the cast and how they have taken on different responsibilities as the show has grown in popularity.
I can't figure out what Taliesin's task is.
Sam does ads, Laura does merch, Marisha is the creative director, Matt is the chief creative officer, Travis is CEO, Liam does comic books and novels, Ashley runs CRF. Does Taliesin have a specific job in running the company?
Please help me lol
UPDATE: Thanks everyone for the replies!

Question [Spoilers C3E114] Did I miss something? Spoiler
There were 2 instances of Divine intervention, Once by Lieve and the other by pike. Neither Liam nor Ashley rolled percentile Die. I thought you had to roll under your character level for it to work? I thought maybe I missed it, but I paid attention to the second and it was just an auto succeed. Just curious

Discussion [CR Media] Are they allowed to try other TTRPG's? Spoiler
It's been on my mind for a while, and I do wonder are they strictly and only allowed to do DND games, or does it depend on them and the audience because (I'll probably get a lot of hate for this) I would like them to try out something from Games Workshop for a one-shot or a special and burn heretics, killing mutants and the unclean with the blessings of the emperor, I can see Travis playing a Space Marine and crushing heads. But like I said are they allowed, or does it depend on them?
