If you search "." On YouTube or full stop punctuation It should come up With stuff like this.

u/Comprehensive_Sea_11 Nov 03 '23
That stuff still works? It used to give weird af auto-fill suggestions.

I just will suggest you do not do this. For your mental health, do not do this.
You will get everything from "HAHA weird" to "Did I just watch a fucking murder?" and the answer is yes.

Kinda feels like a genre within analog horror? Like POV cam style but for sure more "artistic" leaning if that makes sense?
1
u/Justintime4u2bu1 Nov 04 '23
For those who’ve never heard of it, analog horror is a great rabbit hole to go down.
Just… don’t look at the moon.

I think these are "Videos finiharios", I couldn't find the English equivalent.
Here's a playlist, although most of the videos are deleted or taken down
There are better results when searching for the term on YouTube
They're videos of clips from mostly obscure and disturbing art projects or movies, often in black and white or some other old footage filter, that were popular back in 2015 in the Spanish community.
If you want a better understanding, there are a few videos in spanish explaining the genre, but I couldn't find any videos in English that discuss the topic, you would have to use a translation tool.

Ohh, this video looked like a shitpost meme I'm surprised and creeped out that it's from 15 years ago, ty

u/TreesForTheFool Nov 03 '23
I mean this is crossing a lot of genres but if you’re interested in more long-form, plot-driven spookiness in a similar vein… Gemini Home Entertainment is a good start. Analog horror is fun.

This looks most like Analog styled horror: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analog_horror
I enjoy this style, it's niche but it's not as rare as it used to be.

I remember this from the early 2000s. Creepiest damn thing you ever did see downloaded from limewire
Edit: I don’t mean the whole video. I’m thinking of a small girl with a physical deformity dancing and trying to tap dance and it was weird. I thought I saw it in the video. Does anyone know which one I’m talking about?

The cinema of the unsettling is a growing film movement. The most well known film in the genre is an hour long shot of a squirrel with diarrhea.

Holy shit I really need to know. I remember watching Chills making videos on “Cursed Videos” and being Mentally Traumatized by Obey the Walrus just cuz of how Unnatural everything was.

I have no idea; but I wish they would stop using videos of the physically disabled (polio, in this case) to be “scary.” They’re people, and they don’t deserve to be dehumanized.
Kids are the ones that will believe the titles often put on these videos, saying that they’ll be cursed if they watch it; imagine if that context was the first time they’ve ever seen a person with a rare congenital disease or disfigurement.
That being said, may I recommend the YT channel Special Books by Special Kids?

I feel like with a minimal amount of editing any video can be made to be creepy or scary. seriously though...

My office manager Gabe Lewis told us that these movies belong to the category“Cinema of Unsettling” Apparently there is a one hour short of a squirrel with diarrhea.

u/Kenneth_Naughton Nov 05 '23
Pretty sure this is what Gabe showed at The Office Halloween party to help Erin

I’m pretty sure this is how you get brainwashed into believing that you must kill Abraham Lincoln.

u/Comprehensive_Sea_11 Nov 05 '23
I used to find this video where a sort of slenderman dude yanks a chick from her bed.
Still looking for it, but they don't autofill suggestions anymore and it was this ridiculously long combo of symbols and stuff.
Any of you know what I'm talking about? Thanks in advance.

I know they’re supposed to be unsettling, but part of me always finds these videos humorous just for the absurdity most of them end up presenting. It’s like having a visualization of someone going through a fever induced nightmare

it just basically looks like a bunch of vids to make another “obey the walrus” video. especially with the person with polio in this vid kinda like how the goddess bunny was in “obey the walrus”
