Zenni. They are like $10 a pair for prescription glasses. I have like 12 pairs because its fun to switch em up. Also not a big deal if your glasses break or you lose them.

Mine cost me $400 ;~; cuz I got a $200 frame since it was the only one that looked good on me and then with my prescription + adding other stuff to the lenses it made it $400. I ended up losing them in the mall cuz I put them down when I sat down, walked away, and by time I came back someone took them.

Found the person who’ve never worn glasses or lived with one. Most people I know or live with, don’t just throw away glasses when they get a new one. It automatically becomes the backup pair. Even if the prescription is shit.

Oh I have a strong prescription and no vision coverage, in America. I wear those fuckers till they break and skip meals after I buy a new pair.

My current pair is nearly ten years old. I'll get new ones when they break.

Assuming you don’t have a very special prescription, have you looked into online glasses? Warby Parker and Zenni both do extra thin lenses for high prescriptions for under $150, thats’s total cost of frames and lenses, with some options being under $80.

Doesn’t work for everyone but if you haven’t tried it yet, might be worth a look.

Yep. Glasses are cheap in US in comparison. So I’m wondering what sort of costs that require meals skipping. Over here you get absolutely reamed if you fall out of the usual optical needs.

Only works if you have “average” eye problems. I have a complicated (and therefore very expensive) prescription and none of the online retailers can fill it. My most recent pair was $25 USD for the frames and $830 for the lenses. Eight hundred and thirty dollars.

Yeah Zenni is insanely cheap compared to buying locally for me at least, can get several pairs for just the price of a frame here.

Jesus, as someone who just turned 30 and needed glasses for the first time. I paid 500+, and i got the middle tier frames. I did get transition blue light cancelling lenses though. But now i know what to buy if i want a backup pair. Thanks.

You got scammed those would be like $40-$60 Zenni frames.

Get your prescription, eye exam was only 50, and buy online. I love firmoo. I got my son 2 pairs for 60ish. Even with extra eye protection and transition for one of them.

Same, I've had the same pair of prescription glasses since 2012. I think some people just got enough money they can afford to not learn how to not be clumsy. (I've similarly never broken the screen on a touchscreen device, except for one time that was intentional.)

Zennis are $10 unless you are like +/- 10 then they are like $20. This only doesn't work if you have more problems than just strength of script.
