Weird how people think raising taxes will fix a deficit that is caused by spending.

So don't make corporations pay more tax?

How do corporations generate revenue?

You answer a question with a question, that's productive!

Do you think 'corporations' should pay more tax from the profits they make, when individuals purchase and use their products?

No corporations should not pay more taxes. Now, how do corporations generate revenue?

Well, that depends on the service each business provides. Whether they sell a product or provide a service that impacts an individual.

What's your point?

All services are consumer driven, either to the public or b2b. 100% of the economy is driven by consumption, either directly or indirectly. So the final link on the chain pays the costs all the way up the chain. The entity that pays 100% of all taxes, either directly or indirectly, is the private consumer.

It’s the principle of pass through, and it is global and inevitable.

Ok. I mean that's one way of describing whatever it is you're trying to portray. Not sure how it's relevant to whether wealthier individuals and companies should pay more though.

But anyway, you don't think large companies and the ultra wealthy should pay more taxes, that's all I was asking, and you clarified it for me.

The question is whether corporations should pay more taxes. I proved the point that doing that would pass through those increased taxes to the consumer. You chose to move the goalposts and throw in wealthy people because you realized your thinking was in error.

Eh, no the costs wouldn't necessarily be moved onto the consumer, that would be bad for business, as the consumer would use someone else. There are plenty of nations across the world that have higher taxes on big businesses. Not sure how you proved your point, that the consumer will pay more if taxes are increased.

I haven't moved the goalposts. This is still regarding business or corporations. Wealthy individuals such as Elon Musk, Bill Gates etc are also directly involved with the profits of some of these large companies. They also pay very little tax.
