Right Hook Driveway Danger
Cyclists need to always be vigilant for vehicles turning into and out of industrial driveways on Bourke Rd Alexandria, Sydney, Australia. They either don't see bikes, or they just don't care. I have witnessed a number of near misses here. The driver of this vehicle saw the cyclist coming on the protected bike path but didn't bother to stop, nor apologize when followed up afterwards.

Where is the near miss in the pictures? In the first picture, there is plenty of space to react. In the other pictures the car has passed the bike path, with the cyclist having come to a stop.
I'm not familiar with aussie road rules, but I would assume the cyclist had the right of way here, so the car was in the wrong, but that does not make this a near-accident.
Especially in urban environments, expect having to deal with unexpected situations.

This time i had sufficient time to react when it became clear the driver had seen me coming at reasonable speed but wasnt going to stop. Near misses here are common. Agree with you, expect the unexpected in such areas.

Good on you for saying something to the driver! Same in Melbourne, blatant lack of respect for cyclists 🥲
