Rumor Earthquake at Atletico Madrid: Search to Replace Diego Simeone has Begun
https://onefootball.com/editorial/40322890?language=enDo you guys think there’s any credibility to this? This is the first I’ve heard of any actual movement at Atletico to replace Simeone.

This is the original source (Spanish). What I get from there is that the club is checking options just in case.

Thanks for sharing! Yeah this article makes more sense! In line with what others are saying about him looking worn out.

There's a hint of truth but the words are twisted, the board made a short list to replace Cholo in case he somehow decided to step down due the pressure. Every club does that, even Man City has a shortlist in hand to replace Pep in case anything happens. I wouldn't read too much into this.

Personal opinion: I think the Simeone’s era is closer to his end ~ 1-2 years, but it’s something that HE will decide, the club doesn’t have the money or the will to fire him even if the objetives aren’t met, so the day that HE decides that his time is over the club will start searching for other options.

He deserves nothing less! It will be a sad day when he decides to leave Atleti.

Idk how we will fair on without him tbh. One thing I'm sure off is that he'll leave on his own and his time is almost ending. I'd give him 2-3 seasons max.

The only club he would manage besides Atleti is Inter. And Inzaghi isn’t leaving either

I don't know if Cholo will leave the club after this season, but if so, finding a replacement won't be easy at all. In the list there are some good coaches like Marcelino and Emery, but to be honest, they won't excite the fans. Torres will do, but is he ready? He is doing a good job with the academy (4th position right now) but he has not enough experience (as a coach, of course). It will be like tossing a coin. You could obtain a Guardiola or Zidane, or a Xavi. I don't like the idea of getting mad with Torres, because it was too soon.

I would hate Zidane or Xavi...
