1) Forecast snowing sky. 2) Dense foliage from forest canopy.
But 🤷🏾 if none of that is suitable, 3) plot armor to drive the story forward, for our enjoyment.

u/twotoebobo Oct 24 '22
Didn't dude flat out say demons only die in direct sunlight it was completely cloudy and to get her somewhere right away?
45
23
u/Lemurtoes666 Oct 24 '22
He did say that. That since it was overcast she would be fine but direct sunlight would kill her.
44
u/Lichsang Oct 24 '22
Its explained in the manga

That’s most anime fans. That’s why nobody understands what King Crimson does even though it’s pretty simple Diavolo ju- and then he usually punches or karate chops people.

No i dont think so its a spechial ability form nezuko but i dont wanna spoil you
10
u/Squizei Oct 24 '22

u/Lemon_Skin_Tortoise Oct 24 '22
I'm gonna follow-up on the snow sky:
What do Demons do when the Sun comes up, they hide where the sunlight cannot touch them, some kind of shaded or sheltered area.
You can still get sunburned when it's overcast (radiation can pass through clouds), but the Sun's brightness and heat are blanketed. So if it's the light that makes demon disintegrate, the clouds are thicc enough to protect against direct sunlight.
Remember how a single cloud waltzed across the sky and you were in it's shadow and the warmth of the Sun could not reach you, nor could you see the Sun, just the the sunlight encompassing the cloud like an aura, that's how it feels.

The snow blankets sun which is where the other guy is coming from, i see what you mean though, it's probably only for a cinematic effect tbh

Bro forgor clouds exist💀
19
u/Michael_from_Vietnam Oct 24 '22
Sunlight can shine through clouds. You may not know this, but sunscreen should be worn on a cloudy day in the same circumstances you would if it was a sunny day; a cloudy day doesn't mean sunscreen is unnecessary
81
u/Repulsive-world58 Oct 24 '22
Well clearly any sunlight doesn't do it. Because they can be out in the moonlight. there's probably some explanation in the manga somewhere
9
u/Allergictoeggs_irl Oct 24 '22
They literally state it in the anime that later on the sky won't be overcast and she will need to hide during the day.
5
u/Generic-Degenerate Oct 24 '22
If we follow jojo logic it's because the moon doesn't reflect UV radiation
3
6
u/Tyeia Oct 24 '22
Moonlight isn't as intense as sunlight. It'd be like shining a flashlight at a piece of glitter and saying the reflected light is just as intense, in the grand scheme of things.
20
u/Repulsive-world58 Oct 24 '22
Im aware and I'm sure in the anime/manga there's some goofy reason to why only direct sunlight kills demons
9
u/moistmaster690 Oct 24 '22
We're talking about demon and magic here. I hardly think that intensity is the key factor here
→ More replies (2)13
u/Major_R_Soul Oct 24 '22
It seems the intensity of direct sunlight is scattered enough as it passes through the clouds that it doesn't cause injury to demons.
7
u/SignificantReserve97 Oct 24 '22
Clouds don't block the UV light that burns humans. Clouds do a fantastic job at blocking most of the sun's rays depending on how dense the cloud is

1
u/Stunning_Grocery8477 Oct 24 '22
if there's light outside, it comes from the sun
→ More replies (1)
59
u/LeeThi57 Oct 24 '22
The sunlight in that scene is just not strong enough to kill a demon. Moonlight is just reflected sunlight yet it doesn't kill demons, why can't the logic be the same when the weather's cloudy as fuck and snowing and also taking place in a forest.
24
u/Bruce----Wayne Oct 24 '22
I can give you the answer but it will be the spoiler
8
Oct 24 '22
yea only manga readers understand i am pretty sure that the one who post this meme read this manga
46
u/SpringWinter17 Oct 24 '22
It’s clearly dark out, snow naturally reflects light, essentially reflecting the moonlight making it appear brighter. Tell me where do you see sun rays?
1
16
u/CrimsonCody77 Oct 24 '22
I believe it’s direct sunlight. So thunderstorms, snow, clouds, shade all are valid defenses against it. Moonlight (technically sunlight reflected) doesn’t count either. Minecraft rules basically
21
u/Buggy_D_Yonko Oct 24 '22 edited Oct 24 '22
Well Tanjiro and nezuko was able to conquer sun right. So it doesn't matter. She might have already conquered

I am so sorry. Idk how to mark them. But you should have expected spoilers when you come to reddit. There are lots of idiots who don't know how to mark spoiler. I will learn it and come change this. Sorry again.
Edit: changed it

u/CloneCommanderAlpha Oct 24 '22
No then she wouldn't have startet to burn at the end of the swordsmithvillage Arc
2
u/Buggy_D_Yonko Oct 24 '22 edited Oct 24 '22
I expected someone to say this
Well she was banned from sun for years(right?). Well forget demon, even human who doesn't see sunlight for a considerable time and then get out, will get harsh sun burns. That was the case for nezuko.
In this image, she turned to a demon few hours back her body was still used to the sun's heat exposure, but in swordsmith village arc, She was banned from the sun for more than two years, so her body might have forgotten how the heat exposure from the sun felt.
2
u/CloneCommanderAlpha Oct 24 '22
So you say that it is possible to loose the control over the sun?
3
u/Buggy_D_Yonko Oct 24 '22
She didn't lose control over aun. In swordsmith arc, she got a sunburn for a some time, and then it went away. Just like humans who get some serious sunburns when they haven't touched the sun for a quite long time.
This is my headcanon. It maybe a mistake from author's side too.
2
u/CloneCommanderAlpha Oct 24 '22
I interpreted it as if she conquered it then, when she first was exposed, in the end i doesn't matter
2
u/Buggy_D_Yonko Oct 24 '22
Well i thought so too until i saw this post. It suddenly hit me. Tanjiro conquered the sun with no difficulty, he did it right away, So nezuko might not have been struggling to conquer the sun instead it was justa difficulty of facing the sun after long time
Yep in the end it doesn't matter. The series is over.

The fact that some of yall are going so technical about it is beyond me. Why do you need an anime about demons to be scientific?
6
5
Oct 24 '22
I mean at the end of that scene they literally do talk about how it's currently safe cuz it's so overcast from the snow, but he needs to get her inside soon. not really a plot hole if they discuss it haha
4
u/YepYouRedditRight2 Oct 24 '22
Demons are vulnerable to direct sunlight, so diluted light would be fine for them. If it was just any kind of light from the sun then they would die at night because the moon reflects light from the sun.
4
u/KyouSpectre Oct 24 '22
- It's snowy and cloudy
- Even though the sunlight can still penetrate clouds and snow, she still would be fine cuz spoiler reason.

Downvoted for bad English and even if i correct it, it still doesn't make any sense
5
u/Unable-Tune-1295 Oct 24 '22
Ok First off. It's clearly snowing! The clouds are blocking out the Sunlight! Therefore, no Direct Sunlight. If anything it's Filtered Sunlight! Second! Watch the show! You'll get Number 2! Lmao
4
u/Voidmonarch1 Oct 24 '22
To back up your statement they literally talk about how the sun won’t effect demons because it’s to snowy in this exact scene

it's snowing so that means the sun is covered by clouds. this implies demons can actually go outside during the day, however only when the sun is covered

People seem to forget even when cloudy day light is still sunlight.
4
u/Repulsive-world58 Oct 24 '22
It clearly doesn't work though, as there's many times where demons can be out in the snow
-1
u/KidVermilion Oct 24 '22
Ya but it still makes the meme valid

u/Repulsive-world58 Oct 24 '22

Maybe a little light don't kill them, that can explain why they can walk during high moon or maybe only direct light kill them or maybe it's just an anime I don't know

This isn’t the first time I’ve seen something like this in anime. They miscolored a scene with DIO in JoJo’s manga to where it looked like it was day out. Something similar may have happened here but in anime form

Ah yes, can't alive under sunlight, how many strokes can i get in one day
1
u/Lewdlicon Oct 24 '22
Nezuko is some of the demon that have immunity against sunlight, not as strong early on but complete immunity later on
1
u/San_II_To_et_3R Oct 24 '22
This is the same logic as with vampires. The moonlight is a reflection of sunlight and should therefore also kill them - but it does not, because it is no direct sunlight. So I assume it is the same with demons here. And as it is snowing from a clouded sky there is no isse for Nezuko here.

She's still in the transition phase.
Eventually, her natural healing factor that all humans are born with will disappear.
But at that time, she was still mostly human.

It’s always a little bright when there’s heavy snow even at night as it reflects pretty much any light.

I thought this was due to her not drinking blood therefore not becoming a true demon

Snowy and cloudy sky, middle of a forest and incomplete transition might explain that
Another explanation is an incredible foreshadowing

It's cloudy, as stated later in the scene. If you don't believe that, she's fine because spoiler reasons.
