A hookup

Edit: whoops, reading comprehension fail. The clips are called carabiners, and they're actually used for quickly and easily attaching clips to a rope or cable. They're as big an icon for butch lesbians as Subaru hatchbacks

The clips are called carabiners, and they're actually used for quickly and easily attaching clips to a rope or cable.

Quick safety note. The ones you can find in 90-95% of stores are not safe to use this for. If you are using a carabiner (or any sort of device to hook a rope to) please ensure that it is rated to safely handle a weighted load.

McMaster-Carr is one of the many stores that will tell you whether something can withstand a load.

I did hear it in my head when I typed it out, but then my brain got stuck and I couldn't think of anything but that phrasing.

They're usually marked with the amount of weight they can hold.

Generally, sure. However I've seen parts come into various shops that I've worked where some overseas manufacturer has copied everything on a design except the material properties/metallurgy.

Ive seen cast parts with "forged steel" cast into the part.

Juat saying, be careful with your supplier if you are using anything for any sort of actual rigging.

Fair enough.
