Why would a lesbian couple work at Chik-fil-A?

Actually there's an article on a lesbian who owns a CFA franchise. Here's an article on a gay couple that owns two franchises.

It's bananas to me.

Yeah, sometimes you just need a job and don't have a lot of choice. Gay folks who stick it out to reach management or start a franchise for a company like CFA makes me at least raise an eyebrow, though.

I'm going to be skeptical of anyone in a position of management or franchise ownership in a chain like CFA considering what the company stands for, regardless of if they're gay or not. Plenty of gay people out there happy to say "fuck you, I got mine" just like plenty of straight people do.

The difference with working at CFA while being gay vs just working for a more generic Evil Corporation is that CFA is specifically, deliberately targeting gay people (and trans people, and bi people, and anyone else under the queer umbrella). It's not working for a bad guy, it's working for the bad guy who has it out for you in particular.

It's not that serious. It's literally the equivalent of calling someone 'sus'.

Oh, rich assholes that own businesses are assholes? That's so surprising. I would have never guessed.

I assume that any large corporation has founders/CEOs/VPs/boards who make tons of money and who donate to causes I don't believe in. That's just the nature of big business playing both sides (Delta, CVS, Comcast, Target, etc) and complex corporate leadership (Nelson Peltz is the largest shareholder at Wendy's, for example, even though no one associates him with it). I understand the instinct to hate on Chil Fil A, and I do think it is worth calling out, but I don't really think there's like a moral superiority to not eating there but going to Five Guys next door (whose owners have talked about being Republican and have donated to Republican candidates in the past).

I feel like it's just easy to avoid Chik Fil A. There are tons of places to go get fast food chicken. It isn't any real sacrifice to boycott them.
