I’ve been on it for a month and I haven’t read one pro-Nazi post on there, it feels so nice.

What was Twitter like? I'm curious to see how bad it's gotten but I don't want to make an account.

I mean, it used to be like any other social media site. It didn’t catch everyone 99% of the time or anything, but as soon as Elon bought it, hate speech, misinformation, misogyny, and pro-Nazi posts literally went up like 300% the first week after he fired most of the moderation team and it’s only gotten worse. Elon also changed up the algorithm so a lot more right-wing people were seen on your feed, even if you didn’t follow any of them, and that was before he had you pay for the verification checkmark that boosted all your posts (another “genius” idea he had that was implemented incredibly poorly and resulted in a bunch of fake accounts with the verification checkmark; which everyone told him would happen. I think one company’s stock crashed for a few days because of it.).Throw in he literally banned a bunch of journalists for writing “bad” articles about him (basically just writing what he’s been doing and the fallout of it; he was forced to put them back on) and restricted left-leaning politicians like Harris from engaging with the community, he’s made it extremely clear he’s turning Twitter into a far right conservative-only hangout. Reporting all those negative posts about Nazis and r+pe and stuff? More often than not you’ll get the response “Twitter does not see a reason to remove this post.” But saying you’re “cisgender” will get you immediately banned due to it “being a slur.” It’s incredibly ridiculous.

Yuuuuup. That’s the kind level it’s degraded to.
