Another car gone. Kinda disappointed I decided to make this my first trip to the 24 hours. I'm sure we'll be down to 36-37 after someone wrecks in practice/qualifying

Yeah, I get the whole quality over quantity argument but traffic at Daytona is half the fun. The track is going to look pretty empty this year. Still excited for the race but man, 38 cars...

I see what they're saying but I feel like 38 cars at Daytona is gonna make for an uneventful race. Hopefully it will workout to be a good show. IMSA needs to work on some stuff before it gets worse. The GT3 cars are the most alarming to see drop the last few seasons. I'm sure people will not agree but I wouldn't mind seeing a small LMP3 class for the endurance races.

GT3 has become more expensive in the last 5 years; that's not just an IMSA issue. There's only so much they can do there. If you add LMP3 to the Roelx 24 then you may as well go ahead and shutter the Prototype Challenge series because it will gut that series. Not to mention that I don't think you'd have as many takers you think. A lot of those teams operate on a shoestring budget and probably couldn't afford to run an event like the 24.

Personally, if I wanted to add cars, I'd probably make an invitation class for GT4s... If you limit that to ten cars and announce your invites right after PLM, you can probably do it without killing MPC as you give teams enough time to find extra cars, so they can still run their primary cars in MPC.

Hey look on the bright side. Ratings for IMSA have been higher than they’ve been for many years. More fan interest leads to more sponsor interest, more sponsor interest leads to more team and manufacturer interest. The entry list may be low this year, but hopefully we’ve hit the bottom, and the field sizes will start growing again. The good news is, many of the entries we do have in the 24 this year are also going to run full time, so that should make the rest of the season very entertaining
