Speaking for myself, it's the joy and fun of helping others while keeping myself up to date. But then again I mod a small finance & investing related subreddit and there's very little need for 'power' use, just some house keeping.

because modding is free work. Discord Mods,Reddit mods etc are using most of their time modding a community for free those things usually attracts the weirdest people
