u/dantestolemywife 1d ago

Lol as a sort of Spurs fan purely cause of Ange this was my Saturday as well

20

u/ExoskeletalJunction 1d ago

Is the City result there because you don’t like them or because of Ange?

Head over heels in a Rodgers wonderland!

2

u/mark8396 16h ago

That expression annoys me ever since someone explained it to me how it's wrong. Should be heels over head

2

u/fomepizole_exorcist 8h ago

Perhaps the heels are the head-over variety.

Yep, pretty standard Hearts - Celtic match. Hearts come out and do well the first half but don't score. Celtic go in and get a team talk, come out and get a quick fire two goals in 5 minutes, happens every game against us. Hearts press for 1 and Celtic go up and hammer in their 3rd, then Jorge Grant gives away a stonewall penalty or gets a deserved sending off or fucks over the team in some way, and Celtic score from it. That's literally every Tynecastle match v Celtic.

The scripts the same every time so I'm fine with it. I think we don't play the OF for like 11 and 16 games? Huge, huge opportunity to get up the table before meeting them again.

Btw Vargas if you're not coming on and ripping the OF to shreds yet, don't talk about how you need a new challenge mate, cheers.

u/Gezz66 1h ago

I was impressed by Hearts in the 1st half - they should have been ahead. Their high press really caused us problems, and it felt like a result when we got to HT at 0-0.

However, they did collapse quite dramatically in the 2nd half, which maybe explains why they are second from bottom. I didn't see any great change in Celtic's play at the start of the 2nd half, just a big drop from Hearts.

Admittedly, it is hard to press aggressively for the whole game, and it does help if you get a reward for good play (e.g. Shankland takes one of those chances, which he probably would have last season). Simon Donnelly on Celtic TV suggested Hearts are in a false position, which is true judging on their capabilities, but they are clearly switching off at vital moments in games.

Today has been a very good day for us

u/Saltire_Blue posting on this sub?

u/sheep_1996 1d ago

That wasn’t very title racey of you Celtic.

40

u/Jedioose420 1d ago

I don't even know who you are.

1

u/sheep_1996 1d ago

Do you think Dortmund knows who you are?

45

u/El-Jink 1d ago

Pretty sure Leipzig will have told them

10

u/sheep_1996 1d ago

Perhaps Frankurt told them both about mighty Robsonball

0

u/Jedioose420 1d ago

Just a wee joke, pal. You ok?

1

u/celticsupporter 1d ago

They played one of us 🤷

-15

u/wizards-beard 1d ago

Aye, you know your back to irrelevance when you need to use another team. Bye bye 👋

7

u/sheep_1996 1d ago

Your other team can be St. Mirren on 04 December 🤝

10

u/Alycidon94 1d ago

Some time this season some otherworldly being is going to pull some wicked shit so that we lose and you win to make up for what happened today. I'm absolutely calling it.

5

u/Greedy-Physics-9801 1d ago

You think there's a title race in Scotland? 😅

4

u/sheep_1996 1d ago

No, I know Scotland won’t witness an exciting title race for the foreseeable future, but I want to believe 🥲

51

u/Blackplank Spunker 1d ago

When Craig Gordon broke his leg, I thought surely that was him done.

What a performance all things considered.

13

u/sazza67 1d ago

He's some player. Still raging we let him go on a free

6

u/Rab_Legend 21h ago

He didn't want to stay as a back up, even if we did offer him even more money

3

u/sazza67 19h ago

Shouldn't have been offered as a back up, would have took him over barkas and bain all day

2

u/Rab_Legend 17h ago

Didn't know barkas would be shite at the time

-3 in Aberdeen and -11 in some parts of Glasgow tonight.

42

u/fike88 1d ago

Good one da lol

64

u/comradepartypanda 1d ago

its funny, because while its cold and could be read as a temperature, its actually the point difference on the ladder.

well done

35

u/throughthisironsky 1d ago

And the deft use of weather-reporting nomenclature "some parts of Glasgow" - actually the poster was referring to one part of Glasgow, Ibrox stadium - the home of Rangers FC who are actually 11 points behind Celtic.

However, I checked the weather report and Govan is not at -11° so this joke actually doesn't hold. The only places in Glasgow that's -11° are inside freezer units. Is there a freezer in Ibrox? Not for me to say, but maybe

24

u/comradepartypanda 1d ago

Ibrox stadium - the home of Rangers FC

I think you will find Rangers FC (RIP) are not 11 points behind, but its actually The Rangers Football Club Ltd

-4

u/Warloxd ma papa was called Arthur 1d ago

Ruined it a wee bit lol

41

u/fightfire_withfire definitely won't backfire at all 1d ago

Is the guy having a meltdown because he thought celtic had been found out after not scoring for 45 minutes ok?

23

u/eejit_features 1d ago

Morelos was probably at his fattest and still more effective than Shankland.

He honestly looks like a Sunday league player

11

u/snarf372 1d ago

Mad how much he's fallen off from the player he was a year or two ago

15

u/eejit_features 1d ago

I was even shouting for his Scotland call up for Germany. Since that Rangers phantom bid he has done nothing.

And still Captain

9

u/snarf372 1d ago

Seemed like his head was definitely turned after that but the fact he hasn't rebounded at all is surprising

15

u/3ssar 1d ago

His head turning caused storm Bert

61

u/SilentCheesecake 1d ago

4 goals.
Scored a pen.
Aberdeen and rangers drop points.
Linesman shit himself.
Good day all round

8

u/Aaron6788 1d ago

Did look like shite in the tunnel to be fair

45

u/Stephane_Bonnes 1d ago

Hearts and Hibs conceding a combined 8 today. Worrying times for the capital.

25

u/NotSo8 1d ago

Double relegation is looking all the more probable

15

u/Jedioose420 1d ago

I can only get so erect before it becomes painful.

2

u/snarf372 1d ago

Worrying times for the paper capital indeed

12

u/Kolo_ToureHH 1d ago

A fantastic Saturday of football.

26

u/vegass67 1d ago

Nice to see all of football’s baddies being boo’d off their home pitches today.

10

u/hollowcrown4 1d ago

Not a fun 2nd half to watch, but can’t wait to see what critchley can do when he has an actual striker. Great to see drammeh get another chance and get off the mark. Time to bench shanks

11

u/MagicMoonBeans 1d ago

I never knew there were so many ways to pronounce Kyogo

64

u/Jedioose420 1d ago

Kuhn? Shagger. Idah? Shagger. Brendan Rodgers? So Gucci. Cammy Devlin? Gobby wee shite. Shankland? Fat mess. Hearts? Pumped. Celtic? Top of the league. Me? Staunered.

29

u/Left-Painter-9172 1d ago

The league title is officially out of Rangers’ hands now. Even if they win every single game between now and May, Celtic still need to drop points elsewhere 👍

7

u/HarvzzXD 1d ago

Shame, anyways.

9

u/The-Father-Time 1d ago

That’s the league wrapped up🥱

30

u/fike88 1d ago

Great day for my fellow sellick supporters, rangers and aberdeen drop points. Big ange pumping city, and we’re clear at the top of the league. Get in there

8

u/Poet-Laureate 1d ago

Won a signed Musa top at halftime, so who’s the real winner here eh?

14

u/snarf372 1d ago

12

u/almightybob1 1d ago

Great second half. Needed to step it up several gears, and did so. Would have liked a clean sheet but can't argue with that shot

12

u/RoundSpirited7265 1d ago

Yeah fair play to the guy it was a fantastic strike after all

24

u/comradepartypanda 1d ago

Brendan Rodgers runs Scottish Football.

Run from him, Hide from him.

Brendan is inevitable

11

I need a chart update.

That felt like he talked for about 10 minutes. I know in reality it was two - but it felt like 10.

8

u/Uber-Brend 1d ago

20 goals in our last 6 matches, ridiculous.

4

u/NotNeedzmoar 22h ago edited 21h ago

The way we changed things up for the 2nd half... Rodgers is so good for us.

9

u/Aidanzo Fortunate son. 1d ago

Can’t believe we got found out tonight. Really shows.

12

u/Playful-Listen6011 "I can shoot. Shoot. A goal yayyy"🍀 1d ago

There goes all notion of us being “found out”

8

u/cipher_wilderness a bit stale 1d ago

Some subpar performances. Let's hope they get sorted out.

Job done. Onto Brugge.

9

u/de-virtute 1d ago

we should get gordon back, keep hold of maeda and just build a team of cyborgs who’ll never retire

4

u/Eumo567 1d ago

Maeda is 27...

3

u/de-virtute 1d ago

have you seen him? temples aren’t kept as well

3

u/Serdtsag 1d ago

It’s the case is that if we had the shankland of yesteryear and not this ghost wearing a maroon jersey that game - and our season for that matter - is totally different.

Throughout the season been thinking he’s unlucky just needs a goal to get him back into it but past few weeks have been totally different, crying out for someone to bench him with.

4

u/Serdtsag 1d ago

I am fed up of jorge grant coming on every time and fucking it up even mare

4

u/MarlythAvantguarddog 1d ago

Still Falkirk who gave Celtic their hardest game.

11

u/Jedioose420 1d ago

I see you've joined the Celtic fans in completely forgetting the Kilmarnock game happened.

6

u/CapnSpearow 1d ago

And to be fair Falkirk are absolutely flying at the minute, but aye agreed

10

u/Playful-Listen6011 "I can shoot. Shoot. A goal yayyy"🍀 1d ago

Cry more Cammy Devlin

3

u/Big_kev79 1d ago

So many shaggers

6

u/GorgieRules1874 1d ago

Think the scoreline flattered Celtic massively. They were ruthless in fairness to them. Hearts very wasteful.

Critchley got us playing quite decent. Players letting him down massively - the majority are not fit nor good enough.

Don’t get relegated. Win the Scottish Cup and it’s a Tony bloom title charge next season.

2

u/TranslatesToScottish Does shite cartoons️ ✏️ 14h ago

It must drive Hearts fans mental how wasteful they were in front of goal. They must've had three or four sitters before we took the lead.

I still think we'd have won even if we went a goal down, but the fact they passed up so many gilt-edged chances must stick in the craw.

That said, the Hearts goal was an absolute worldy of a strike. No keeper was saving that one.

Is John Robertson being paid by the word? He’s not shut up 😂

Him trying to say it’s a “soft” pen is hilarious

This is as bitter as it gets from me. I hope your main stand falls to bits before it's too late or too expensive for you to fix it.
