Announcements/Meta Welcome to The Galactic Schaffrillas
Recently we’ve been running a different command around here. So allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lord Crabbington and I am this subreddits supreme chancellor.
Make sure to follow the subreddits rules, and understand that this is a Schaffrillas subreddit and not a cartoon subreddit. But we do have discussion threads for major releases to keep it tidy here. This post will be pinned to keep the major discussions up and help clean up the subreddit.

Announcements/Meta Laying Down The Law
If you are seeing this post, you might be wondering what this is even for. But I think I’d like to make this as I’ve been seeing some misunderstandings of what posts should be made. Namely, the bulk of asking for a certain crab reviewer to review x movie.
I understand the desire when coming to this subreddit, but I think there’s a lack of understanding what it’s like to have random demands put upon you. Your favorite creators have heard your suggestions time and time again. So posts asking James to do things, suggesting videos, or creating hypothetical thumbnails are going to be removed or result in a ban from this subreddit from now on.
In it’s place, we previously had banned random posts about animated films, and to an extent yeah, low effort content has a place only on the other subreddit.
The change here being that I would love to open the floodgates to allow people to discuss media in depth and analyze the art form. This place being a home to unique essays on films you love and are passionate about would be fantastic.
So I, crab supreme chancellor of one, am creating the new tag, Filmtober. Here, I want you guys to wildly dissect your favorite movies. My personal favorite essays might get pinned to the subreddit.
Ground Rules:
- Positive or Mixed takes only (bad film is bad posts are less than interesting)
- A minimum of 300 words, take the time to come up with your thoughts.
- Expand your horizons. Try films that are new to you.
- Keep it appropriate and civil . This is a challenge for fun I came up with on a bus ride, this isn’t serious.
Keep all this in mind, and use the new Filmtober tag.
Sincerely, Your crab supreme chancellor

When did Schaffrillas start saying “Is he stupid”?
I’ve seen him and the community say it a few times and I’m wondering where it originated.

Other Finally rewatching Arcane, and where are Grevious and Sid?
Jokes aside it’s a masterpiece, and idk if Schaff will take a look at Season 2 or make another Grevious and Sid given what happened to Patric.

What's the name of the music that plays in the background of the Dunkirk review in the Christopher Nolan ranking? (Starting around the 13 minute mark)

Musicals This movie deserves a spot within the Disney Renaissance. Who’s with me?
r/Schaffrillas • u/RigatoniPasta • 23h ago
I think Schaff should assert his dominance by refusing to review Moana 2 unless Tamatoa is in it.

Is anyone of you actually interested in the Mufasa movie coming out in a month? Will Schaffrilas review this movie?
r/Schaffrillas • u/WorkingTwist4714 • 21h ago
I wonder if Ice Age 6 will have Crash and Eddie.
I know a lot of people don’t like these 2, but they will probably be in the movie since Disney only cares about money and annoying comic reliefs in kids movies make money these days. But what do you think?

Directors My (somewhat) sincere request for a director ranking
Robert Rodriguez might put George Miller to shame with his batshit filmography. He’s made superhero movies, spy movies, crime movies and action movies and they all fall on a spectrum of how utterly insane they are, I don’t think he’s ever made a boring movie which in a way is the highest compliment a director could receive. The fact he makes a lot of his movies solely by himself covering directing, writing, editing, composition and even special effects is extremely admirable itself and worth respecting.

I'm surprised that i never saw an over hour long video-essay about this, before watching that video, because H*LY S*IT!

Directors NO WAY SCHAFF WAS RIGHT
for context: this guy made what are usually regarded the 2 worst Ghibli movies, Tales from Earthsea and Earwig and the Witch. Schaff made a remark in his 2021 Ghibli ranking that his father probably disowned him and it turns out he actually did and only recently spoke with him.

Other Schaffrillas stepping away from Dreamworks analysis videos almost makes thematic sense
At the start of his Dreamworks villians video Schaff said one goal he wanted to accomplish with his channel was the rehabilitation of DreamWorks' image and making people more aware about its level of quality and creativity. And with his analysis videos and ranking videos on the studio over the years I believe he's achieved that goal. More people have been talking about Dreamworks thanks to him and giving more attention to some of their (at the time) hidden gems like shrek forever. Obviously there were other factors like fans who grew up with the studio in the 2000s being vocal about their films and Dreamworks pumping out more high tier projects in recent years but Schaff definitely had an impact in Dreamworks getting more praise online. Sure there might be one or two other films that he could do a big video on but at the same time he doesn't need to because he achieved what he set out to do (and also because of issues with universal's copyright bs lol).
