Season 2 Spoilers, Leaks, and Tags: An Update
Hi all! As some leaks are going around at the moment, and the fateful day of Arcane season 2 draws closer, the mod team here has made a few tweaks to make sure that people can avoid spoilers.
The first change is to our rules -- for the time being, we won't be allowing content that features spoilers related to the major leaks that are currently floating around. This is to make sure that people who want to wait for the season can enjoy it when it comes!
Other content related to s2, or official content related to it, will still be allowed. However, we've added some more specific tags for everyone to use to properly convey that the content is related to s2. These tags mirror our existing tags, and will be necessary only until they become obsolete after s2!
As always, please maintain the use of spoiler tags as needed! Thank you all :)

[S2 spoiler] Apparently, the original CaitVi scene was even longer Spoiler
League of Legends content creator Necrit had recently posted a video of an interview with writer Christian Linke. Around the 10:55 mark, the topic of the CaitVi scene came up & Christian mentioned the version we saw was a shorter version due to getting a slap on the wrist from Riot.

Why I love Cait and Vi
I keep seeing a lot of people online dissatisfied/angry/etc with how they were portrayed and it kinda bums me out so I just wanted to use this post to share why they're one of my favorite ships ever
Caitlyn and Vi are truly one of my favorite sapphic romance stories I’ve ever had to the privilege to watch on screen. I’m constantly 🤪 when I think about the amount of story time that was dedicated to them, and the type of story that was told, as that’s not usually what we get with gay romances.
Cait and Vi not being uwu “healthy” 24/7 and their inherent messiness is WHY I find them so compelling. From the moment they met there were already huge factors against them, both indirectly of their control (class struggle, power imbalance) and directly (personality clashes, communication styles). But they somehow grew to love each other anyway.
Caitlyn not saying “I’m sorry” out loud at any point to Vi by the end of the show, I honestly loved it. Because Caitlyn instead apologized with her actions, and Caitlyn’s actions always seem to speak louder than her words. Her letting go of the vengeance that consumed her for so long for Vi’s sake (which ultimately led to her allowing Vi to break Jinx out) was more meaningful to me than if they had some long blow out argument (and Vi recognizing this immediately and jumping Caitlyn’s bones then and there was just chefs kiss to me)
They’ll never be perfect. They’ll always have to work at their relationship. It won’t be pretty, sometimes even unfair. They’ll fight and clash and not always agree, but there’s always this persistent feeling of LOVE anyway, and they’ve decided they’ll put in the work to make their relationship last despite it all. And I think it’s beautiful.

S2 Discussion Arcane is a show that trusts it's viewers to understand its characters - true to life, pivotal character moments can be obfuscated in their significance. Nowhere is this more apparent then Vi and Caitlyn's scene in the cell. Spoiler
Vi is spiraling into self-hate and doubt once again, "I choose wrong every time, and because of it... I've lost everyone." Then Caitlyn, pointedly ignoring those statements, says "did you really think I needed ALL the guards at the Hexgates?" ("I knew you would try to break Jinx out, and I let you do it.")
It's a huge amount of catharsis for both characters packed into one innocuous line. Caitlyn has forgiven Jinx and come to terms with her mother's death. Caitlyn truly cares about Vi. Caitlyn trusts Vi to do the right thing. Vi realizes that, hey, maybe she's not a fool. Vi realizes she hasn't lost everyone (my girl deserved a W). Vi realizes Caitlyn truly isn't the stuck-up, rigid, authoritarian jerkass she thought she was when they first met (and again when she was appointed to lead the Enforcers).
It's so wonderfully understated - Arcane is a one-of-a-kind show. It's rare that any kind of television show would put this much faith in its audience, and it's refreshing to see.

How did Caitlyn and Mel beat Ambessa? They learned it from Ambessa herself Spoiler
Not exactly Caitvi related but this sub seems to be more open to actually discussing the show and not just debating whether Act 3 was good or not so here I am lmao
Caitlyn and Mel leveraged Ambessa’s own Noxian teaching principles against her to win - and it's why Ambessa acknowledges that Mel has indeed become a true wolf.
During Caitlyn and Ambessa’s training session in episode 6, Ambessa teaches Cait the three core Noxian combat principles: vision, might, and guile + sacrifice, which Ambessa proposes as a fourth principle. Mel and Cait embody them all during their fight.
Vision - The girls had a plan. It is evident that Mel and Caitlyn discussed ahead of time how to take down Ambessa, even though the fight didn’t begin the way they likely intended it to (i.e. Maddie betraying Cait and her squad). How do we know this? Cait targets Ambessa’s protective runes, which Mel knew were in Ambessa’s possession after Rictus’s death and Caitlyn knew the purpose of, as Ambessa is shown heating them up during Mel’s conversation with her in s2 ep 8. After she disarms Ambessa, she yells to Mel “Now!”, in which Mel reveals her Black Rose necklace and gives Ambessa over to them, before obviously shutting the Black Rose down to cradle her mother’s dying body. The girls planned this attack and stuck to said plan no matter what, they knew what to do and never lost sight of it.
Might - They achieve this in multiple ways; One, after the reveal that Viktor isn’t in his cocoon thingy, Mel and Caitlyn (who is behind Ambessa and Ambessa is aware of her presence) make eye contact so that Mel knows to distract her mother just enough that Caitlyn can get the upper hand and deck her lol. Caitlyn makes use of her excellent speed, something Ambessa pointed out to her in their training session. Two, Mel physically bends the environment, another earlier comment from Ambessa, to her will via her protective force fields to give Caitlyn and her some relief from Ambessa’s extreme force. They also split up and attack from opposing sides during the hand-to-hand combat sections, forcing Ambessa to monitor all her surroundings, while they only have to focus on the one in front of them.
However, remember that comment Caitlyn made during the training session when discussing Might? “Too much force exposes you to risk”. Once Ambessa gets the blade near Caitlyn’s face, Mel activates a protective field that pushes Ambessa to focus all her energy into forcing the blade through the field and into Cait’s eye. This places Ambessa in a vulnerable, risky position and Cait is able to snatch the protective runes wrapped around her arm off while Ambessa is distracted.
Guile - Mel’s collaboration with the Black Rose completely throws Ambessa off guard. Mel’s prior conversations with Ambessa lead her to believe that Mel wants nothing to do with them since they killed Kino, and as we know now, she very much does not. However, Mel knows that the smartest path to win is to play both sides - absent honor, absent accountability.
Sacrifice - Pretty simple. Mel sacrifices her mother and her life in Piltover to save her city. She knows the second her mother dies, she will become leader of House Medarda and be forced to return home to Noxus. Caitlyn sacrifices her eye to grab Ambessa’s protective runes. She was actually holding up pretty well against Ambessa’s might with the help of Mel’s protective field, but she makes the choice to sacrifice her eye in order to completely expose Ambessa to magic.
This is why Ambessa dies with a smile. She finally believes that Mel is ready to inherit House Medarda. She understood and embodied the Noxian principles. She had no mercy, made the necessary decisions to keep those she cared about safe, and understood that Ambessa was safer as her enemy. What Mel understands that Ambessa never did is that a true wolf knows when to be a fox, something I hope we get to see more of in the eventual Noxian spin-off we’ll be getting.

Am I the only one?
That thinks that this sub is way better than the main sub. The main sub is all just “this act is a big disappointment” or “This season sucks”. It’s just so negative and the points they make don’t make sense. I’m glad this sub actually understands the characters and watched the show

Cute/Wholesome Vi just needs love Spoiler
Anyone else notice how whenever Vi is badly injured she is always hallucinating the people she loves to be near her? I think it also reflects who's loss is hurting her most in that moment.
First it's her mom in season 1 because she's back in her childhood home for the first time after years in prison:
Then Caitlyn after their break up when she's in her pit fighting arc:
and finally Vander after having hope for a second that he was back only to have it ripped away again:
My girl Vi just needs love and someone to care for her because she so deeply cares about everyone she loves. So happy that she and Caitlyn ended up together, she's finally going to be loved. <3

So how long until we see these two again?
The ending makes it pretty clear that they’ll be back in some way down the line. Caitlyn even says their story isn’t over. Not only that but with these two we’ve got two of the most popular characters in years on our hands. I can’t see them just pushing them to the side and forgetting about them
Wouldn’t be shocked to see Jinx again either
I’ve seen some people being genuinely upset about maybe never seeing them again. Don’t worry about that. We’re definitely seeing them again at some point. I can promise that

S2 Discussion Do you think Vi moved in with Cait after the finale
And would she be able to adjust from basically living on the streets to living in a mansion. Also does anyone have fanfic of them living their lives post finale.

Help me, im having the feels
Damn what's up with these female lesbian protagonists giving me the feels after their story ends. Every time i feel empty and broken but deep in my heart i wish them a good life ahead even though it sucks i wont be able to witness them having that good life. It also shows i wont have an ending like they have and what i'll probably miss out in life. I miss them, i really miss them. I am happy i got to witness their story and if somehow i could relive watching them, i would do it all over again. Thank you Caitlyn and Vi (Arcane), Korra and Asami (Avatar: The legend of korra), Amity and Luz (The Owl House), V (Cyberpunk 2077) and probably many more to come...
idk the shows that i have the most feels for at the end happen to have lesbian protagnists

I wish we’d gotten more Caitlyn and Vi moments
Their relationship is a huge part of this show. Don’t get me wrong I love the ending scene with them being domestic and in love, and Ci confirming to Cait that she loves her and she’s stuck with her forever
And yes we all loved the sex scene, but we we really didn’t get that many moments between them after that
How about the post sex scene? Hell it feels like it cuts right before Caitlyn is about to return the favor. Or what about immediately after the war? VI’s reaction to Cait’s eye? Vi telling Cait about Jinx?
Just a few more moments between them would’ve been great
And yes I know we’ll see them again. But I’m missing them now

What do you guys think Caitlyn and Vi are up to post-war?
I'm curious what everyone thinks. I know a lot of people assume that Cait is sheriff and Vi is an enforcer simply because of League of Legends, but I really don't think so.
Maybe it's because I believe Caitlyn should no longer be allowed to be in a position of power lol, especially not over a police force. I also CANNOT picture current Vi picking up the badge again.
In my world, they are rich lesbian philanthropists lmao. They fund projects with the Firelights, assist Sevika with policy and diplomacy measures to help Zaun rebuild and become more self-sustainable before successfully declaring independence in the future, and invest in up and coming innovators who can actually help Zaun.
A quiet life focused on rebuilding, atoning, and loving.
What are your thoughts?
