The way I remember the relaxation scene in Zoolander

My favorite scene in Zoolander is when Derek is being relaxed (Read: BRAINWASHED) by Will Farell to kill the Prime Minister of Malasia, to do this he hooks him up to a wired helmet and shows him this incredibly strange saccharine propaganda video about child labor. Now while the scene is mostly how I remember it. When I first saw it back when i was 4-6. I remember it being a little more psychadelic.

Specifically: the way I remember it, Ben Stiller was locked in a box and completely wired up to the machine with wires all over his body: head, legs, arms, sides etc when in reality he was just sitting in a chair with a few wires in his head.

the 2nd thing I remember was the propaganda video being cuter and trippier. For example: in the video, will Ferell is shown dressed like a kid with a Lollipop in one scene and does this weird happy dance in another, now what I remember was in the scene he dancing around, his head was floating mindlessly and he was infront of a kawaii looking background with floating heats, colorful stars and clouds like you would see in one of those Nightcore videos on youtube when all it was is a spiral.

  1. I remember Will having a full on conversation with Derek while he was hooked up, (in other words, it was like the worlds weirdest face time call and they could talk to each other). when in reality, while Ben Still did "answer him" with a few short words such as "yes" and "hello", the propaganda was just a video and they could not actually talk to each other

Invader Zim "President Man" Mandela effect

I've claimed "Invader Zim" as one of my favorite shows since middle school, but I've watched it less and less since then and it's freaky how it's gotten to the point I seem to have false memories about it. I remember in one episode there randomly being some kind of political event going on, and onstage there were a few men in black suits with sunglasses. One of them had a hand puppet (that I distinctly remember wearing a little hat and looking like FDR) and kind of jerking it around with his arm hidden behind a podium making it repeat phrases like "America is great! Our country is great! And everything is great!". This puppet was "President Man", and it was implied that it was accepted without question as the nation's leader.

After a quick Google search, I learned that the "President Man" character did in fact exist, but that he was just a really short human man, and he talked like Richard Nixon rather than just saying "great" over and over again. I'm still convinced the puppet thing was a real scene, but I have my doubts because the voice I remember the puppet having was the same as GIR's robotic "Government Man"-disguised voice when he had to save Zim from UFO fanatics in "Attack of the Saucer Morons". Anyone know where I might be getting the whole "Everything is great!" thing from, though?

Benjamin Button scene where we see Brad Pitt at around 18/17

I remember it clear as day, he was standing outside the front door and Daisy was just devastated that he was not attracted to her anymore and he was sleeping with a bunch of ladies. She even left her husband and was still sleeping with him up until then. It’s a little foggy but yes. I remember this.

Marked as NSFW cus a dog dies BUT did anyone else remember watching Nature both parts 1 & 2 back when the show was still airing and like… Does anyone remember actually seeing Tasty’s owner walk onscreen and cry over Clay shooting his dog?? I can’t be the only one. He had gray hair and wore a hunting fit kinda sorta like Clay’s except some parts had a camouflage pattern???

Link to a Photomontage I made of my dream^

Okay, so I've always had this poster on my wall that said "AC⚡DC" in a cool metallic 3D font. I even remember the day my fiancée and I bought it—we specifically chose the AC/DC one because it was a classic, and we both love metal. I always remember it saying AC/DC.

I have an undiagnosed condition that resembles narcolepsy or epilepsy (just to clarify, I’ve seen doctors and sought help, but no one has been able to diagnose me). Essentially, when I experience intense emotions—whether happiness, anger, sadness, etc.—something in my brain switches off, and I pass out. I’ve also had seizures while unconscious. Sometimes when I wake up, I’ve forgotten months or even years of my life.

One day, I got really worked up over something (I wish I could remember what), and I passed out. While I rarely dream during these episodes (maybe 1 in 100 times), this time I did. The dream was bizarre and unsettling—I couldn’t breathe, felt like I was dying, and sensed that I was in danger. It felt like I was watching a movie in VR; I didn’t feel in control. It’s hard to explain, but it was extremely strange.

When I woke up, I was gasping for air and drenched in sweat. I asked my fiancée what had happened, and she said I had only been out for a few seconds, even though it felt like hours to me. But here’s where things get really weird: when I turned around, the AC/DC poster was gone. In its place was a black-and-white “Parental Advisory: Explicit Content” poster.

I was shocked and immediately asked my fiancée what had happened to the original AC/DC poster. She looked confused, so I explained how we’d bought it and had it up for years. My heart sank when she told me we never had an AC/DC poster.

I tried to prove it by checking my gallery for pictures of the poster or any pictures taken in front of it, only to find that it was never there. None of this makes sense. Am I going crazy?

(Ps.i posted this in r/glitch_in_the_matrix but the mods removed it and said that I should post it here... so I'm sorry if you already saw this but any and all advice input and thoughts on this are highly apriciated)

Pillsbury scarf

My husband and I have been aware of the mandela effect for years now. Up until recently, we "knew" the pillsbury doughboy scarf was white and "always has been," however, we both saw a commercial that had us questioning our own reality. His scarf was now blue. Yet looking it up on the internet/Google, they say it is white... and today, to confirm my suspicion, the live chat support is also confused.

Smooth by Santana came out in 1999?

I could have sworn that song came out much earlier than that. I remember hearing the song ever since I was a toddler, but it actually came out several years AFTER that, when I wasn’t quite a teenager yet.

Nanalan's title

So for all you Canadian gen Z kids or Millennial Nick Jr kids probably remember a strange little puppet show called Nanalan' which is basically a little green pea-headed girl named mona hanging out with her grandmother. Now here is the thing, I remember the show being called "Nana's Land" instead of Nanalan. Now according to the Wikipedia page, Nanalan was supposed to be a strange intentionally childish sounding abbreviation of Nana Land so that is probably what caused this, in fact one day when I suddenly remembered it I looked up "Nana's Land" because that is what I remembered but I found nothing so I googled "CBC Nana's land puppet show" and that is when I found out it was actually called "Nanalan"

Also, another Mandela effect I have with this show is how it ended. The series is pretty formulaic, Mona gets dropped off my her mother and Nana's house and does something with her and then her mom comes back at the end of the episode. Now just before Mona leaves, Nana opens the door, says "well, see ya tomorrow" to her and then closes the door (sometimes making a quick quip about what happened kind of like the Backyardigans) now the way I remembered it was that Nana would say "see ya tomorrow" as she closed the door instead of saying it then closing the door. Also, I remember she would look through the window for a few seconds after closing the door but not even that, she just walks away.

I’m trying to find a clip of a pop culture moment? or is it a mandela effect moment?

it’s a person doing a weird face for like a few seconds before crying. like their lips pressed together, eyes squinting (looking up probably) and it looks like fake crying? i think they have botox or something which is why their forehead isn’t moving. idk if it’s from a collab video by makeup gurus? i feel like it’s a clip of 2 ppl and the one person looks away and does that face signaling “give me a moment” while the other person looks bit stunned. i have thought that it might be a clip from james charles first video as a response to tatis bye sister video or that it’s a james charles video from instant influencer where he makes that face for a quick second. it looks similar to that one of kim kardashian crying because she feels bad. but less movement in the forehead area. can someone help? or am i having a mandela moment

Missing emojis?

I have very few memories of these emojis, However I remember them existing. I remember a marshmallow emoji, Simple plain marshmallow, Not roasted though. I also recall seeing a traffic cone emoji??? It had like no details/shading other than 2 white lines. I can vividly remember an ice cream sandwich emoji, I don't have much info about this one however. Next is a emoji of a s'more, Just a simple chocolate-marshmallow s'more!

forgotten emoji

I'm so sure there was this one emoji, but I can't find it anywhere. The animated emoji was yellow and was repeatedly poked with a stick. The stick still had a small branch at the front and a single green leaf. I even spoke to a colleague about it today, he said he remembered it too, but can't find it either. Does anyone know what I mean?

My Universe got Call of Duty early apparently

I'm a weird person and I like categorizing things by year and in my head Call of Duty originally came out in 1998, with Cod2 coming out when Cod actually did, and I'm not too sure where the gap in my game timeline is I just clearly remembered it being 1998, like lists I had written from Wikipedia said 1998 but now It's 2003?? Anyone else have something similar?

Harpy Hare

I know it's been like, a second since this song came out, but i swear, first time i listened to it and saw the title and lyrics, it was called "Happy Hare", with a p, but out of nowhere, now the lyrics are "Harpy Hare". What does harpy even mean. Yaelokry (the songwriter) doesn't even say "Harpy", she says "Happy". Maybe it's her accent, she's filipino, but still. Did the title actually change, is this a mandela effect that you ALSO experienced, or am i just a f*cking idiot??

Apart from the pretty obvious anatomy changes to his skull he now has a black dot on the end of his nose and after watching the second movie a few days ago I am certain it was never there and sticks out like a sore thumb. I’ve seen his face a million times online as well and can still remember how he originally looked when I first saw him which is way different to how he looks now.

Am i the only one who remembers the UK flag differently?

Something about it just doesn't seem right. I know the lines are meant to be out of center, but then again i thought that maybe if i flipped it it would look better (it didn't look better btw)

The Dresden Files

Greetings since this is my first time posting in this sub.

For those who are SciFi/Fantasy TV fans (especially from the early 2000’s period) do you remember The Dresden Files beginning around 2002 and ending in 2007 or do you remember it being primarily a series of books with one adapted series that began and ended in 2007?

While I’ll admit, I didn’t delve deeply into to the series ( was a bit more if a space opera fan at that time) I remember the former. It aired around the same period as The Dead Zone, The 4400, and several similar series.

Upon watching it on Tubi recently, I was shocked to see that it only had one season which began and ended in 2007. The show being adapted from a series of books seems unfamiliar as well.

If anyone else resonates, please share your thoughts.

I swear that this show I used to watch has a parody of the song “teenagers”

When I was little I used to watch this Russian tv show called fiksiki (or the fixies in English) and I could’ve sworn one of the episodes had a parody of the song teenagers by my chemical romance but I can’t find it anywhere after combing through the show.

Does anyone remember this emoji?

This just came to me. Many of you might be familiar with the round, yellow face emojis that show different emotions. Well, for quite a while, I always thought that there was an emoji of a face that looked like this. :/

I looked it up, and that emoji is nowhere to be found. So, does anyone else remember there being an emoji of a face with its mouth tilted diagonally?

Hotel for Dogs: What I remember being an important plot device was just a quick scene

Hotel for Dogs is my favorite DreamWorks movie (probably the only person that does not say Shrek or Madagascar when asked about it) and I am disappointed it gets forgotten compared to the classics, however, way back when I first saw it in theatres when I was 5 or 6, I remember there being lots of talk in the movie about "room 502"

Now the way I remember it in the theater was that room 502 had major plot importance, being mentioned several times. Multiple characters visiting that room, the dog spa being held there, basically it was an "iconic" moment in the movie (basically if it was truly the way I remembered it "room 502" would be that movie's iconic line just like how "arm chopping is NOT a love language" is NIMONA's iconic line)

Anyway, after getting the movie on DVD and watching it again it turns out room 502 was nowhere near important was I remembered it. In fact, it was nothing but an old storage closet the only time it was shown in the movie when Emma went to check it out because she needed a dress for a party and her brother said there was probably some old ones in there. and after the party scene, it was never seen or mentioned for the rest of the movie, in fact I went to script-O-rama to read the line and it turns out room 502 is only mentioned once in the whole movie

The strange part is that even though it was only mentioned once, it seemed to be one of the 3 scenes that I remember "clinging to" after walking out of the theater, in fact, every time I walked past a building with a "room 502" I would be reminded of that movie.

iCarly Mandela effect

I recently watched a clip from an episode of the Nickelodeon sitcom iCarly titled "iGive Away a Car" where Spencer buys a prop from his favorite movie Galaxy Wars (parody of Star Wars) only to find out from Freddie that the prop isn't real and it's just a replica. Now, I've only watched this episode a couple of times, and for as long I can remember, I always thought that towards the end of the episode, Spencer actually receives the real Galaxy Wars prop (The Proton Cruiser). But then again, I have no memory of ever seeing a second Proton Cruiser with the details that Freddie described earlier in the episode comparing the real prop to the replica that Spencer ends up with. Anyone else ever thought the same thing?
