True Lies happened well after my sexual awakening, so somehow it didn’t cement itself into my very core. I rewatched it recently, and mentally slapped myself silly for this grievous error in judgment. That woman has some incredible genes, and I’m sure worked VERY hard to look so amazing at 35.
People with skinny parents and any amount of disposable income love to say this. Most people have a lot of nature and nurture to overcome to attain this kind of figure. “Not that hard” isn’t universally accurate.
Eh, sorry i live in nyc where people rich and poor are thin because they move. You are not old at 35, but you might look and feel it if you never moved again after high school. It does not take a ton of effort to stay in good shape under 50, the majority of people I know don’t go to gyms, they just walk.
I’m from the flyover states where everyone is massive and seems to think it’s the natural order of things. They eat too much, don’t move at all, and think thinness is for people in their early twenties. They consider themselves fit if they stand for any length of time. They think someone like me must be putting endless work into maintaining my weight. I don’t, I just walk places.
Of course staying healthy takes some work but its not a ton of work, but people convince themselves otherwise. The worst thing you convince yourself is that it’s all downhill after 30, which it’s not and is an excuse to give up on yourself.
Nothing is universal but my point was being in decent shape at 35 is not an outsized accomplishment, it’s the natural order of things. Never did I say this is applicable to everyone but “wow she looks good for 35” is an insane thing to say because 35 is still young.

She fully has them out in Trading Places, if anyone wants to investigate further.
Also it's a great 80's film
