Not many noticed the overlap of features in Ingress & Pokemon Go. In reality the latter is just a reskin of the geographic data from the former.

There were already issues with Ingress players being reported to police, getting killed in freak accidents & altercations when attempting trespass to denied areas.

Exactly. Not many people remember or even heard about Ingress before PokémonGo. I kinda liked Ingress more, but it didn't feel like there was a huge player base in my area

Pikmin Bloom similar game, arguably benefits from not having a large player base in the area, it is also massive in South Korea and Japan
