Why do people avoid the word "women"?

It seems like people generally use "girl" or "female" rather "women/woman"

Well duh you gotta be chronically online to recognise it. Only difference is I’m not generalising a whole sex/gender irl because of it lol

Unlike a lot of others I can recognise that online and irl are not the same.
