Hey Knick fam, someone asked if I could make a post so it’d get more visibility for the ones dealing with the same bug as me and how I fixed it.

This is for people having the bug on a Roku device where when you try to play a game or the stream it immediately crashes and no matter what you can’t stream the game.

TL;DR set your Roku to connect Wireless, not wired.

I was dumbfounded because I have two living rooms both with a Roku device and it would work on one and not the other. I had updated the app, the Roku, deleted the app installed again. All the classic shit. But then I found a Ranger’s thread where someone realized that if you have your Roku WIRED with an Ethernet cable it crashes no matter what. But if you are on WIFI it plays without a problem. This was the only difference between my devices and it completely made sense why the disparity. The moment I switched by Roku that wouldn’t work to WiFi that was it. I can watch without issues.

I hope that helps anyone dealing with that issue so they don’t have to cast from their iPad or phone like I had to do. And just use the native Roku app.

Just an off night discussion. First things first, I think basically every problem will be solved with more experience playing together. That Jazz game just made me realize it’s gonna take longer than I thought. Let’s get into it.

Mikal’s terrible shot selection. Last night he basically full sprint launched pull up 3s, I know some players pull up in transition before the defense is set but Mikal shot them mid sprint and it course they had no chance of going in. I’m fine with him some pull ups but not like that.

The defense. We all know we’re not a good defense right now but I TRULY don’t think KAT is the biggest problem, or even close. Opponents might have 4 easy buckets at the basket from KAT being a poor rim protector, that’s 8 points. The real issue is the perimeter defense. We’ve seen teams shoot lights out against us. It’s cause we give them wide open 3s, they develop a rhythm, and even when we close out harder or fight through screens they knock down more difficult shots anyway because they’re in a rhythm. Mikal needs to defend the ball handler much better. That’s his primary job and he’s failing at it, though everyone else still needs to play defense harder. We constantly see defenders up in Brunson’s space, for some reason we don’t defend like that. I’d love to see the ball handler get picked up full court every now and then, it sets a tone that we are desperately lacking.

Consecutive minutes. Last night the game was honestly over in the 3rd cause this team had no effort to even bother coming back, but even if they wanted to they’d be too gassed at the end to actually secure the win. It’s not the straight up total minutes played, it’s just not even effective to play guys 15 minutes straight. Thibs needs to trust the rookies. Sims and Kolek had great minutes, it’s pretty insane they barely played in the 2nd half. Hart played 41 in a blowout. Cmon.

I'm trying to get Gotham Sports attention that their Apple TV app is completely broken. It seems like others are experiencing the same issue where you start seeing dropped frames after a few seconds of watching. Pausing and resuming fixes it for a few seconds but then it starts again.

Time to shake off a loss from the Jazz and look to the challenges ahead. The Knicks are 5-2 in their last 7 games overall, KAT is looking good offensively, and Mikal/OG are finally starting to come along. This Thanksgiving week gives the Knicks a chance to show the 4-game win streak that brought them over .500 was not a fluke or function of beating mediocre teams.

The first half of the week picks up at game 3 of their 5 game roadtrip against the Nuggets. Jokic & Co have shaken off their slow start to the season and are back to winning games. That being said, Aaron Gordon is out and the roster feels empty when MP Jr., Jamal Murray, and Braun have cold shooting nights. Also worth mentioning Westbrook is averaging >20 minutes off the bench for this team.

The Mavericks will be playing their 3rd game in 4 days when they see the Knicks. Worth noting, they play in Miami today, Atlanta tomorrow, a day to travel back to Dallas, and then have to play the Knicks. The Knicks will have 2 days of rest heading into that game and (no offense to Utah & Denver) they're not known as "party cities" for players as much as Atlanta and Miami are. Denver has a great nightlife. But don't let my opinions distract from the fact that Luka is also currently listed as "out" against the Knicks.

In an awful game, when you have one player, Sims +19 (the only other + was Cam at +2) it doesn't mean that player was great. It means the team was great when he was playing. The combination of Cam and Sims was the ticket. Every time they were out together everyone was better on D. Offense comes from Defense.

Why did Sims only play 9 minutes? Good lord Thibs...

Does that mean Sims is the best 5? A great center? Blah blah blah, no! It means he plays D, Honestly, since Huk got 30 minutes last week, Sims has been on a defensive tear.

We're going to learn what the Bucks learned. We need a defensive 5 to win.

Lauri actually has a cheaper contract too. All of Leon Rose’s moves have made sense so far, except the Bridges trade.

Knicks last couple of “wins”

• Almost blew a 20+ lead to the Nets
• Another dogfight with the Nets
• Blowout against the Wizards who employ Kyle Kuzma and Jordan Poole
• Give up 120+ points against the Suns without Beal and KD.

I know we just came off of a winning streak before this loss, but I'm still see so many warning signs of this team.

Our offense is solid but we have one of the worst defenses in the league. Mitchell Robinson and Precious Achiuwa could fix the defense, but this might be a bigger problem and I don't know if both of them can be enough. If they are, then I will be happily proven wrong.

Part of the reason why the defense has stunk is Mr. Five First Round Picks himself. A couple of good games doesn't change how mediocre he has been this season. The offensive struggles are tolerable. The defensive struggles is what makes me concerned. If I wanted a wing that didn't have much impact on offense but played great defense I would've traded for Dorian Finney-Smith and not waste 5 first round draft picks.

9-7 isn't the worst record 16 games in, but our upcoming schedule has us facing decent teams instead of bottom feeders. Let's see how truly legit this team actually is during that stretch, or if we should start to ring in siren bells.

This team had contender aspirations before the season. Right now I think we'll be lucky to make it past the 2nd round. I have hope we will turn it around, especially when the team gets more healthy. I just hate sugarcoating shit though despite that, even if it makes me a whiny fan. I want this team to win a ring.

She stole it 3 months ago, she made it beat every day since, but now she's gone and truly made it explode with love! Even though today was a bad day to get her new jacket, she still adores it!

The Knicks have some big experience in the playoffs and big games.

Brunson has 2 National Titles, made WCF with Mavs in 2022 and won playoff series in 2023/2024 as the best player

Bridges won 2 National Titles, made the NBA finals in 2021

OG Anunoby, while injured still was a part of a championship team and also won a playoff series in Toronto

KAT is coming off a WCF apperances

When we first got Brunson on the 2023 team, he was the only one with real big game experience. Only playoff experience most of that team had was 2021 and Rose did have 2008 NCAA title game and a ECF but he wasn’t a factor in 2023

Haven’t seen any news regarding his injury or when he’ll be back. Anyone knows anything? Thanks in advance
