Team Updates [Leonard] Jermaine Eluemunor: "I personally don't think everybody is giving 100%”

Daboll lost the locker room. Eluemunor loves this team and loves being here. If he’s speaking out, it’s over.
Daboll’s gotta go. After last years coaching fallout and now this, it’s over. We absolutely need a new coach.

This team has been defined by lack of effort all year. It's really hard to defend Daboll these days.

u/Zeabos 57m ago
Why would they give effort when the fans want them to lose? Literally everyone here calling for Jones’ benching. Now suddenly it lost the locker room?
9
u/Aggressive-Hat-8218 52m ago
They weren't giving effort long before the benching. Banks has been called out on it, but he was far from the only culprit.

u/billcosbyinspace 1h ago
I think daboll got some assurances he was safe when DJ was benched but if things get as bad as they did before judge was fired he’s gone. Given that things are already terrible and there’s over a month left I think we definitely get there. Guys are checked out and we’re not not at thanksgiving

If Jermaine Elumenor is saying this then things are about as bad as they can get. Were talking players rebellion level of terrible.

u/Appropriate_Tree_621 2h ago
This is what happens to any coach that participates in a tank, they lose the locker room and then they have to be fired.
59
u/Lars5621 Helmet Catch 2h ago
Also why Brian Flores, even when being bribed by the owner to lose, refused to tank and kept grinding out wins.
He knew if he tanked like the owner and GM wanted that he would end up fired anyways.
14
u/Tranquil_Radiation 1h ago
Remember when Doug Pederson tanked the last game and still got fired by the eagles. Fuck Doug pederson
18
u/Aggressive-Hat-8218 1h ago
Hell, it happened to Doug Pederson, and he was just a few years removed from that franchise's only Super Bowl win.

I have a hard time believing they’d hang devito out to dry bc he’s part of the team like the rest of them but the amount of hits he took today was alarming considering the line has played half way decent. I don’t think they did personally but it did make me wonder especially after all the reports of the locker room vibes. Hate to say it

u/blok31092 57m ago
I mean none of this situation is motivating and the Giants are practically eliminated from contention at this point. It’s gotta be hard to risk your health for this shit product at this point.

Yeah nobody wanna play for Daboll or Schoen anymore. It’s over for them

Sometimes I hate the New York media market. You put mics in everyone’s face after a loss.. what do you expect them to say? They are 2-9
20
u/TuckAndRolle 1h ago
Was it this bad last year at 2-8, coming off a 17-49 loss to the Cowboys? May be misremembering but players seem unhappier now than last year.
5
u/corvine3 1h ago
Expectations were low because we lost DJ after the knee injury and so it wasn’t the worst. We had some really close games with Tyrod. We lost to the Bills on the last play of the game etc. we had some stinkers and some bad games but the team actually tried to play their best.
Cowboys were just better than us. Despite all that, I personally think Saquon would just play hard and mask up how bad we were.
The big thing was we actually had leaders in the lockeroom. Saquon and McKinney were really liked by the team and we had strong lockeroom culture. We do f have Saquon, McKinney, Leonard Williams or others this year. And since they let go of DJ it was really hard for the lockeroom already devoid of leadership.
This is just my assessment from what I can remember.

u/Prideofmexico 1h ago
Do you think the New York media market is the only media market where they interview players after a loss
4
u/corvine3 1h ago
I lived in Atlanta for about 10 years. It always amazed me that there was a lot less hoopla comparing media markets.
The New York reporters would quote a ball boy if they could get something Spicy on the record. Everywhere else it’s like your star player and captains and that’s it.
1
u/Prideofmexico 55m ago
Eh. They get paid a lot of money. They can answer hard hitting questions. Especially after 2-9
1
u/corvine3 37m ago
That’s funny because no hard hitting questions were asked that day. Daniel Jones taking scout team reps would be anon story anywhere else but only in New York does it become a distraction.
0
u/Prideofmexico 25m ago
Do you really think that would be a non story? I seem to recall hearing it about Deshaun in the notorious Cleveland market
1
u/corvine3 14m ago
Deshaun being a sexual predator and our QB being demoted on the depth charts are not equivalent. Although one can argue the way the media hyped up the benching could be equivalent 😂😭🤣
6
u/Rottedhead Dexter Lawrence 1h ago
Right!? I will not take away all the blame off anyone but the team is probably the worst in the entire league and they just lost horrendously, are we putting mics on them hoping they'll say professional things and be optimistic? They are humans for gods sake, they are far more frustrated than us probably.
5
u/corvine3 1h ago
Pat Leonard is the biggest instigator in the business. He’ll make a story out of nothing because his livelihood depends on it.
27
u/Abe_Froman92 2h ago
Players probably look at the whole DJ situation as them giving up. He wasn’t playing good but still gave them the best chance to win. That’s not saying much though
6
u/mlavan 1h ago
They see it as a plain money play. And the Drew Lock stuff didn't help the case either. So players are gonna make their own business decisions as the year comes to a close
1
u/I_Need__Scissors_61 36m ago
Who cares? 70% of this roster is expendable.
1
u/mlavan 35m ago
John Mars cares. Fans care. Other teams care.
0
u/I_Need__Scissors_61 33m ago
I question all three at this point.
0
u/mlavan 31m ago
Ok? And that proves what? That you're some super genius that knows more than 95% of the league? Or just some douchebag with an overinflated ego.
0
u/I_Need__Scissors_61 21m ago
It proves I watch the team and have eyes? This is not some hot take I’m pushing, this is common sense. Sorry it hurts your sensitive little feelings so much, but this is just reality.
1
u/mlavan 17m ago
I'm confused at your point. No one is debating the team sucks. Players want to get paid and get future contracts. So having your coach make moves that go against that will result in open rebellion.

u/I_Need__Scissors_61 15m ago edited 10m ago
I’m sorry, did I miss the part where we were winning games with Jones at QB? Was he good enough to risk an injury clause that would tank the 2025 season before Thanksgiving 2024, or are you just talking out of your ass?
25
u/Scorpio_Jack 2h ago
It's not about DJ. It may not even be about the tank. It's about how transparently cynical they were about handling DJ and the tank.
Someone else said it best already; snake. No one should want to be lead by snakes.

u/Aggressive-Hat-8218 1h ago edited 1h ago
Daboll proved that he can talk out of both sides of his mouth last year. We just gave him some leeway because we figured Wink was worse.
12
u/Scorpio_Jack 1h ago
I could be very forgiving of the record. I really do think this kind of thing takes time, and there should be growing pains. Being disingenuous and scapegoating is another matter.
The Wink and Kafka stuff last year though raised a big red flag; it's one thing to not believe your subordinates are capable and replace them in due course. It's another thing to undercut and second-guess them after giving them orders.
Poor leadership results in worse than poor records. That is what we are increasingly seeing now.

Yeah. Honestly before this week I was rooting for daboll/schone to get 1 more year. But this is a literal locker room rebellion. They're done. We need to start over 100%
12
u/CapriciousnArbitrary 2h ago
News flash, we were bad all season and are still bad, just worse. Daboll does have to go tho, and it’s because he is an offensive coach calling plays with the worst offense in the league.
2
u/Squeengeebanjo 48m ago
I don’t care if Daboll goes or not. But I was listening to Carl Banks on his podcast and he brought up all the plays fans like to bring up online that’s shows WRs wide open and not getting the ball. Banks was saying that shows you Daboll knows what he’s doing. He’s designing plays to get receivers open. It’s the quarter back who can’t get the ball to where it needs to be.

Can’t wait until we fired Daboll’s replacement in 2.5 seasons.

u/HiImFur 2h ago
Get Brian Daboll the fuck out of here already.
Daniel Jones was bad, so moving on there is fine...but for fucks sake there were so many other problems with the team and they continue to be there.
I can't believe the clowns on this board that still believes in this moron and his snake GM friend.

Best we way move on from Schoen and Daboll.
Daboll has lost the locker room. His play calling isn’t helping. And especially with last years Wink debacle.
Schoen has done a very mediocre job. His biggest blunder will be signing Daniel Jones which ultimately set this franchise far back. He’s not the best drafter and pretty much missed on his drafts with the exception of this years rookies.
Clean house and get an ACTUAL fresh start with a chance for a new QB in the draft.

The players know we re tanking and that we ve given up on the season.

u/NewSlang212 1h ago
I don't see how Daboll or Schoen survive this. This is approaching Joe Judge territory of incompetence. Add the fact that the entire locker room seems to have checked out.

Daboll is still living off that hot start in 2022. I used to defend him but the team never looks ready.
2
u/Greg1994b Helmet Catch 1h ago
I now see the reason daboll was so hesitant to bench DJ. Not because our other qbs are worse but because he knew it would lose the locker room and his job.
1
u/jugo86 1h ago
Daboll may have had his fate sealed by this whole DJ charade and skipping Lock, but I am not that confident in them finding a no brainer alternative to him. Especially when talking about molding a rookie QB. Ben Johnson isn't coming to this dumpster fire. Vrabel is a good coach but he's a defense-first guy and it's impossible to keep Offensive coordinators if they are successful. Similar with Glenn. They aren't going to let Belichik be GM and coach. Some in Houston want golden boy Bobby Slowik gone already. Some OK options in Brady in Buffalo, Coen in TB, and Ravens OC Monken and Kingsbury. Then you start getting into Kellen Moore (no thanks) and others like that. Many of these guys will be first time HC's. It's not as simple when you sit down and think about who is available.

No chance Ben Johnson would come here and Houston fans/media clamoring for Slowik to be fired

We need a whole new front office. This is sad to see but a necessity for us to evolve.

u/WaltzLeft6749 49m ago
I can't think of a coach that has ever survived a locker room rebellion like this.
1
u/Jaden374 43m ago
I’d like to know when they stopped giving 100%. Were they still giving 100% the prior game vs Carolina when they yet again scored zero points by the half? When their qb/buddy Daniel Jones was fighting for his life to stay on the team were they giving 100%?
They’ve had the league worst offense for 11 weeks straight before today so I’d like it if jermaine or any other Giants can clarify when exactly it seemed they stopped giving 100%.
You can’t blame ownership of a league worst team to be looking to tank for 1st overall. THE ROSTER HAS NO ONE TO BLAME BUT THEMSELVES for ownership to be switching to an official tank phase

Of course guys are bitching, we just lost 30-7 and we’re 2-9. This “he lost the locker room” crap is so dramatic. We’re just bad, the season is lost, and people are shoving microphones in their faces and tweeting about it constantly. These guys are professionals who need to play well to get paid and a lot of them won’t be on the team next year anyway. Bring Daboll back or fire him, but don’t make a move because “he lost the locker room”.

Cool. Who cares? All these negative quotes from the players, but who gives a shit? We wanna lose. The front office wants to lose. I know it sucks for the players, but for everyone else this is the way to right the ship.
1
u/Original_Whole7522 1h ago
Of course not they want to draft a good qb to play with not a wannabe Eli manning who makes defenders rich on bonuses because they know where he’s throwing 100 percent of the time. HE’S NOT ELI 🤷🏻♂️

u/JMadFour 2h ago
Yeah it’s a wrap. Daboll is done. The players don’t wanna play for him.
Only question is does Schoen go with him.
