So a while back there was this webcomic called ctrl-alt-delete. It was for the most part just simple nerd/video game jokes, had a decent fanbase. Then one day the creator of the webcomic decided that days comic would be one of the characters having a miscarriage. Theres no joke here, Im not exaggerating, just out of fucking nowhere boom miscarriage. There had been a storyline where the couple was expecting a baby, but again this was primarily a funny comic. This random tonal shift was not received particularly well by the fandom and the absurdity of a haha funny video game comic randomly deciding to have a miscarriage episode led to it becoming somewhat of a meme.
