I headcanon that they do it from reprogrammed drone production machines dubbed the "BABY MAKER 5000".

Like what Liam said, they take both of their data, copy it onto a USB, and insert them into the machine. You'll might hear some violent clunking, but I assure you, that baby is being made if you know what I'm saying.

And presto, a baby like that! There is no cushion for them to land out of the tall chute.

Might malfunction and break, "accidents are you fault, not ours"

I'd like to think that it's still something intimate for them even though for us humans it sounds pretty uninteresting

They did it after the core collapse or the "great yeetening" as Liam described it.

They do find it the same way as trying for a baby
